Hello everyone, on Saturday I'd head to Viševnik, I have all winter gear, but I'm concerned about avalanches?

If you're asking whether it will avalanche or not, no one can give you an exact answer. As you can read in the news, the possibility of avalanches is significant. I can only say that nowhere are there cracks visible like last year, but that doesn't mean it's 100% safe.

Thanks for the info Roman29. All gear will be in the backpack as it should be in winter. If possible, I'll go further towards MDV, I'll decide based on conditions up there.

I don't know what the path condition is, but your mentioned route in that sequence is quite long even in dry conditions, and usually some time is left for enjoying.
Maybe someone else will say more about the conditions.

Viševnik below at the lifts and further towards the fork and to the ridge is frozen and ok to walk (sinks only rarely, if at all), higher up the sun does its thing and it becomes mushy. Occasionally sinks a bit or can slip (if you go on the track of predecessors or ski track, no big force), caution needed, towards the top it increases a bit. Winter gear (crampons and ice axe) therefore not superfluous for a more steady step.
For those used to winter tours, this is probably nothing.

No need to talk about the great conditions these days. :-) I summited Viševnik from the back, from Srenjski Pass.
Srenjski and Studorski Pass were still untracked yesterday morning. A few hours later crowds of skiers.

Today I was up there. Started at 7:30, had crampons, in the morning it was frozen below 80cm of snow, the higher towards the summit the more it sank.
Some hikers, some ski tourers. At times snow nicely blown into eyes  But it was nice

27.2. My crew was still packing at home when I was already searching for the first time in the forest above Konjščica Dragging and soon carrying skis to Jezerc. Under snow-covered Studorski some pirouettes with "cross-country" skis decide to go with "too short" crampons to Ablanca. Haven't been there Nice compact and tracked. Slide back to Jezerc (tourers coming the opposite way turned back due to hardness under Studorski, walkers with crampons had it easier). Skis on backpack and on hard snow to Srenjski pass. Viševnik filling up, from Mali Draški just skied in an experienced master. I go up to check too, haven't been in boots yet. Hop hop up and the same (butt) back. Wind calmed down. Snow just before 12:00 still compact but already softening slightly. Crowd on Viševnik. Good conditions and I head in the direction of Lipniška. Something completely new. Right along Veliki Selišnik and left to Veliki Vrh. Old wind-blown tracks fading, map shows I'm going right. But under a few cm of soft, hard compact snow on the slope slips too much. No skins. Traverse towards Lipanski, occasional remnants of tracks (self-comforting ) show that I'm somehow going right. Then gullies and slopes and between Zgornji Razor and Mrelše towards Mrežce quite a bit of taking off skis, crossing gullies, lifts and drops over some edges. When from Mrežce more and more tracks into the valley, I follow. Sun on the right side, direction good then. Track old but well tracked and soon I reach the path Pod Lipanco and towards Krucmanova konta. And not long until I ski down the closed Viševnik ski area towards the barracks. Nice. Ours too in the weekend at Jelka already collected each their own pograd. Yay

Morning from barracks to ski slope icy, then to summit more and more thawing. In last steep walking strenuous due to wallowing. Crampons not necessary, more hindrance from balling.
Otherwise beautiful Saturday, almost too hot for season, occasional welcome light wind. Lots of visitors, hikers minority vs tourers.

Hello. Does anyone know the conditions for Viševnik? Will small crampons be ok in the next days or are the real ones needed? Maybe someone knows how the situation is towards Tosec? Thanks for replies.
