hi on Sunday I'd go to Viševnik, wonder if the path is already bare

Based on what I saw Sunday on the path to Ograde, I dare say the southern path to Viševnik is certainly snow-free.

Already last weekend the southern path was fully bare, except here and there some "patches" of snow.

soon heading to lipanca one option via kačji rob other via viševnik and srenjski preval wonder what the paths are like if demanding

Path over Kačji rob easier than to Šmarna gora, along NW ridge of Viševnik over Srenjski preval more airy but fully normal mountain path. Below Srenjski preval may still be snow patch, so ice axe for crossing not superfluous.

viharnik thanks for tips have another question what about from viševnik to pl. konjščica if not over srenjski preval any closer path than back to rudno polje then to planina or cross somewhere at zlati vodi and what path like

At saddle Plesišča right branches a streambed leading down gully to lower marked path Rudno Polje-Jezerca. There you cross from marked path over meadow to Pl.Konjščica. Streambed drawn on Julijcev map, but haven't crossed there yet so don't know the path. If overgrown not worth risking as you quickly end up in tough terrain.

Viharnik, I haven't heard yet that anyone would draw game trails on maps. They do draw shepherds', hunters' and some other paths. It's also true that animals with their centuries-old tracks have often shown people the easiest passages, where they've then routed their paths in places. Actually I'm chiming in to attach a map excerpt (Source: Atlas okolja), which with some highlighted small trails and paths arrived at my email these days. Coincidentally an acquaintance had a partially similar idea to brencelj ... On the excerpt there are two unmarked small trails marked with purple dots (one that viharnik mentioned as a game trail), which connect south below Plesišče - on Goli ravni above Konjščica and indicate a possibility of a different crossing from Viševnik or from Plesišče to Konjščica or even around the edge to Zlata voda. Unfortunately my experiences using these small trails are several decades old and I don't even approximately know what state they're in today, so I couldn't help the acquaintance with specifics, nor can I help brencelj. Maybe someone has something fresher on hand to supplement me and help both?!

On 25.6.2010 on the path from Viševnik towards Rudno polje I lost a men's hiking jacket of gray-blue color. If someone found it, let them report.

Crossing from Viševnik to Pl. Konjščica past Zlata voda and around Plesiša by unmarked small trail successful - recently walked path The trail is a bit trodden, but quite visible, so you can reach the marked path without problems that leads from Rudno polje to the lakes

Some snapshots from Viševnik and Little Draški Peak, yesterday 13.7.2010. Very nice morning and sunrise but pictures are of poorer quality because I took pics with phone only 2 mil. piks.

zamet, Next weekend I plan to go to Viševnik to shoot sunrise. Since I'm tackling this for the first time, I'd be glad for some first-hand data. When were you at the top? I'm interested in the whole show - from darkness to the sunrise itself. For Sunday sunrise should be at 5.35. Somehow I've already found out that I should be up (to see everything) an hour and a half earlier - that is at four. I hope it'll be clear, because that weekend is full moon.

I caught sunrise about 100 elev. m. below Viševnik. You, if you want to see everything, which is of course also nicest and if you're at 4am or up to 4.15am at top you won't miss anything, wish you luck with weather, then just send pics..

Thanks for the info. Really hope it'll be clear and something visible. Don't know what my pics will be like, because I have a "slowpoke", if not I'll put some of my husband's. He has "the real" camera and will drag a tripod too.

Does anyone have fresh info, how are larches under Viševnik, yellowing already?

Probably already slowly. But if not, would you stay home? It seems to me such questions are more and more. Why? Isn't nature beautiful also in other seasons and not just 14 days when larches turn golden? It's approximately like asking if there's a summit logbook at the top. Because if not, then I won't go to that hill. Pitiful. Regards
