Well, we missed the morning sunshine because we weren't so "good" in the morning but it was still nice. Thanks for the "trodden" path, we met at the ski slope... nasmeh

After Saturday's weather forecast we decided to head to Viševnik. And indeed the weather cleared up for Kranj folks after 10am, before that we admired the play of colors and a bunch of adrenaline junkies who were returning to the valley in various ways...on skis, on boards through the bushes, even on shovels down the back side. So occasionally you could hear various screams from the bushes, not sure if from joy or fear...
Well luckily we all made it to the valley in one piece...

Some today's...conditions super for hiking. No ice, under the summit some wind-blown snow.

Clear,cold morning on Pokljuka promised a nice day.It really was a beautiful day,winter fairy tale on Viševnik.Lots of snow,path is trodden.Many skiers and hikers.In short,pure enjoyment today.Nice regards.

Today despite workday quite some people. Of course not as many as yesterday. Conditions good, crampons basically not needed...one more evening picture

To Viševnik along the track, at the top I stay more than 1 hour. After descent I go to Plesišče and, when I see they are still going to Viševnik I go again to watch the sunset. More in pictures.

Today on
Viševnik. Snowshoes tested. All the way to the last 50m elevation with snowshoes, then due to wind-blown snow and resulting icy base I put on crampons. Descent with snowshoes all the way. smile

Today on Viševnik gale-force wind, so I turned back a bit below the summit. Otherwise snow hard, drifted in places, crampons needed. Quite a few skiers and some turned back too due to gale-force wind. Best regards.

Yesterday I did a circular tour Rudno polje Jezerca Srenjski preval Viševnik Rudno polje. Conditions very good, only the path from Jezerca to Srenjski preval and then to Viševnik needs full winter gear, as the snow is very hard and icy.

Yesterday on cold Pokljuka classic ski tour towards Viševnik.
Lots of snow on Pokljuka and it will hold due to plateau and shaded spruce quite to summer. Track for skiers goes left by draglift and nicely groomed to top for skiers and snowshoers who don't sink, border collies stopped below Plesišče. Summit cool and windless, sun on south slopes gaining strength. North still dry unprocessed snow, south settled denser heavy dry snow not ideal for touring anymore, sinks as too much, hinders turns. Below Plesišče north gully real skiing knee-deep powder. Group from Veliki Selisnik hit perfect shady valley line to parking road. On Rudno polje Zagreb folks laughed at huge snow amounts not on Sljeme. Later several buses even from Pula. Huge snow, plenty touring fun ahead when snow settles more, cheers! smile
