Was on Viševnik today. Path nicely trodden, in case one doesn't feel safe, recommend small crampons.

I haven't been, but two reported on fb in Hribolazec group on conditions:

12.12. "part of path very frozen and icy, so crampons with you."

Today someone wrote: "At start where ascent past chairlift/cable car (from Rudno polje) to top of cable car and further until open is quite icy (shady spot), towards top bare."

Careful and good luck! nasmeh

Today at least 50 visitors on Viševnik, most on foot, some with snowshoes, skis, saw two borders and one split-border. On saddle between Plesišče and Viševnik met friendly gentleman (with even friendlier pup). He said he broke trail alone (on foot) in morning, took about 4 hours to top. Hats off! Consistent with PFranci's note, passage through bushes really barely possible, or you'll get st... Several trampled path variants, without skis or snowshoes sink everywhere. I was with skis, quite late, descending hikers coming opposite, sinking annoyingly in bushes, some lady (or miss) just before me sank well over waist. Bushes covered with scant snow have their power of course, track not stable even if 50 people go over it...

Weather contrary to expected high clouds simply divine, clear. Depressive fog up to under 1800m, above clear, hardly a cloud visible. Well Triglav had cloud cap, Rjavina too. Saw far around - Vogel in fog nasmeh, Kalški greben in sun, all visible peaks sugar-coated with snow at least visually... Pure winter!

Due to too little snow skiing from top bit odd, that day all skied from shoulder just below summit. Snow dry but much heavier than powder, here and there slightly crusty, bushy branches area above Plesišče special trap for skis.

At path junction to Kačji rob annoying fog started.
The depressive fog dissipated just below Plesišče.1
Several variants of the path are trodden across the dwarf pine belt. Without skis or crampons none is ideal.2
Kredarica and Planika as on the palm of the hand, Triglav however with a cap that occasionally lifted for a moment.3
Veliki Draški vrh and Tosc, bottom left Studorski preval.4
Karavanke, Košuta and Kamniško Savinjske Alpe also received their (at least ornamental) share of snow.5
Not too much snow, interesting descent along the ridge.6
In front Ablanca, behind it Krn, to its left Bogatin, Tolminski kuk, Podrta gora, Vrh nad Škrbino.7
Debela peč and Brda, in the background Kepa nad Mojstrano.8
Due to lack of snow, most skied (or snowboarded) from the shoulder just below the summit.9

Yesterday visited summit. To Plesišče ok. Through dry bushes ascending lots of sinking, even to ass, descending track already quite firm, only sank a bit if careless. Few visitors. Ski slope below operating.

Today on Viševnik. Track made. When returning group of Croatian hikers went up, well compacted path. Otherwise snow sun-affected and if you wanted your own way sank well. Good luck!

Today from Rudno polje over ski slope to Viševnik. Weather nice, no wind, snow melting fast, below summit streams on path... too warm for season, consequently early morning sun-affected snow not sinking much. On top few walkers and few ski tourers. For ascent winter gear in today's conditions no longer needed. Everyone decides themselves.

I was there 10 days ago...a little snow after the ski slope then it starts quite a bit. The summit part is bare.due to warm weather it might be different now.lp
