BojanA... if you take kids you take them to such a 2-thousander they can do... Don't begrudge all other hikers who go or were on that 2-thousander... Everyone by their abilities and everyone earns praise their own way not contempt!

That annoys me so, Bojan, go to the Himalayas.

yeah, I agree. I e.g. would take them to... Bojan you hit it so off that I have no words for you, just this: On this "pensioners' two-thousander" people have died too...

They died in winter in really weird snow conditions and that comparison is totally off. And no worry "my" kids can do Viševnik ... and that with great ease Just wanted to say whoever likes peace even a bit should go elsewhere rather than this too much visited peak. Sure I like meeting folks in hills too, but what's cat here is cat here. Better then go from Tivoli to Rožnik.

completely off is your comment, I just told you viševnik is only mountain not hill where mommies come with strollers. if you misinterpreted and got wrong it's your problem, I won't sleep worse for it! but you right viševnik really is "brothel"(short access, low diff, crazy view) I would def take little ones to martuljek

Viševnik is stump, summer even closer. Together with Brdo and Deblo peč easy two-thousanders anyone can do in summer: just has (at least) one healthy leg. We've taken them to Martuljek many times already.

@Bojan A your writing really ain't worthy of your adulthood and maybe as retiree you'll struggle to get to Šmarna gora or not at all.

That (with leg) I didn't mean figuratively but literally. Seen heroes who hopped up without one leg. Such people I respect fully. Whoever completely healthy can't reach even Viševnik he's to blame for being couch potato or spending three quarters day in tavern and his problem he don't recreate. Go on think me as braggart. No I don't brag. Just opinion every human should have at least that fitness to be physically able without trouble for summer tours (like) Viševnik. Basic physical fitness base for health.

It's about respect for fellow humans, both those who can only manage Šmarna gora and those who go effortlessly to two-thousanders and higher.

I do agree that exercise (+other factors) greatly contributes to maintaining health late in life. But @Bojan_A, people have different priorities in life and that doesn't mean that a non-sporty population is inherently inferior. best d

Hehe, Darja, such 'profound' thoughts are unfortunately still out of reach for some cocky youngsters.

Bojan A: I too have happily read your adventure posts so far, because they seemed special and for my middle years, both mentally and physically, unattainable. Your comment seems offensive to me, as it's nonsensical to compare the psycho-physical abilities of a youngster who does more than recreational mountain running with an employed hiker of middle or older age. Not all employed work only weekdays from Mon. to Fri. and thus don't have free weekends, so it's hard to coordinate free days and obligations (family and work) with other family members. You also meet diversity in the mountains and that's good - among runners you find hikers, mountaineers, photographers, enjoyers, vacationers, scouts, ...

In my opinion, Bojan just wanted to say that this is one of those "God's paths" where you meet all sorts and soon hate them because of all the "non-mountaineers" at heart. I think he didn't mean to offend anyone, right? Sometimes when we type quickly, it sounds different...

urbanček... look, that's why we learned to read, to read what we wrote afterwards.. As for Viševnik, we know it's crowded; both on weekends and in nice weather... If it bothers someone, they just choose another tour (more solitary). That's what I do...... but still we don't insult anyone.... Not those who slog either on Viševnik or on Triglav...

Well, whether Viševnik is a little hill or a mountain, no doubt it offers wonderful views, especially if you get there early enough. Today I was the second on Viševnik, together with a gentleman who arrived up a few minutes before me, we had the privilege of seeing a wonderful sunrise...

yeah viševnik is really "resting place for our soul" the nicest is to go in complete darkness, when dawn breaks you're already at the little lakes, watch the sunrise and then descend in the first morning rays... of course with skis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and continue the way to work
