For both routes whose description you find on these pages, in winter conditions recommended equipment: ice axe, crampons. For summer no data on equipment. Sometimes it seems to me that we ourselves, when we comment conditions make a mistake if we even write: I used crampons, mandatory crampons etc., not to speak of stupidities that we often brew in sense: it went without crampons etc. I myself will in future precisely because of questions similar to the above, avoid such commenting from afar.

Donat thanks for comment, at least I won't look back anymore at various remarks that I often hear when my backpack "carries" me, even if I go "only" to jurja and back. A bit joking that backpack carries me, but I'm not some tall birch,so sometimes it really looks like that, but at least weather conditions don't surprise me.

Yeah pardon for question. Interested me cuz I don't have crampons with me currently (lent out). And since I'd still like to go I'd like some first-hand info. I know well what smart equipment is in winter in mountains. Been to Viševnik 3x and not once needed crampons... Goggles anyway don't have.

Last Saturday, 15.1., when there was "spring" in the country, from last draglift to saddle under Viševnik I had slush on skis, from saddle to top went on foot with crampons. And that previous Saturday when it was spring-warm. Now at Rudno Polje morning near -10 and on top around -12. So

Has anyone been on Viševnik today? What are the conditions?

Viševnik was surely full, only no one reports anything. Hope someone else writes something today!

It's quite bad if you're completely dependent only on what someone writes. You need to continuously monitor conditions in the mountains, weather and the rest, so nothing surprises you. Otherwise Viševnik isn't some special mountain that has different conditions than elsewhere.

On Tuesday, 18.1.2011, after the descent from Viševnik at the parking lot at Rudno polje, I forgot three-part hiking poles Leki, red and black color. Honest finder, please call me at mobile 031 379 793 thanks

Today I did a tour to Viševnik. Conditions excellent, except very windy. Snow just right, up without crampons down with crampons. Visitors to Viševnik a little sea.

rozka, yesterday we met on the ridge towards Viševnik. Those three at the ascent to Mali Draški vrh was our group. We had a great time, enjoyed the views, snow was hard. Nice day!

Surely some of you have experiences with Viševnik: is there any avalanche danger tomorrow on the path from Pokljuka?
