Personally I'm a bit disappointed with the brackets in pic 5. If I remember right, or if I'm not mistaken, when I went on this path, there were some brackets and no cable. This staircase now is pure overkill.
Otherwise really praise to the path maintainers for fixing the path and all effort, but really don't know if need to overdo with all that iron. "Killed" one of the most interesting parts of the path through Žrelo

Tomco, you're right, that part was quite different.
On one hand I fully agree there's too much ironware. On the other... maybe this saves GRS some interventions, because nowadays everything alive goes up there. Good there are unmarked peaks without ironware

I remember, I think we went through Žrelo gor in 2015 and that detail was completely bare, it was quite delicate (at least for my taste), but it added extra spice to the tour.

Some pics from Storžič the day before yesterday, with unusually good visibility at altitude. The paths through Žrelo and over Škarjev rob were damp, but that will probably change in the next days.

Last Sunday everything was dry, in between the temperatures were such that it shouldn't snow at this height.

Today conditioning from Mač to Storžič.
Forecasters nailed the forecast nicely.
Trail without peculiarities.
Gully under Kališče still pretty wet. Hope hikers without poles kept their dry and clean asses on the way back
Hut at Kališče closed, currently no warden.
@poly: dry everywhere now, not just Storžič...

jprim, I don't understand the purpose of such a comment.
User poly asked a question and got answer(s). To a regular mountain-goer it is clear there is no snow now, but not everyone is in that category and shouldn't be the subject of mockery for someone answering the question. Although it might seem more trivial to someone else.
In the same light, mentioning that the hut nearby was closed even over the weekend does not seem superfluous to me.

Today's predšihtni Storžič. Unlike initial expectations crampons stayed in the backpack. It felt like it'd be so from Kališče onwards. Of course descent needs more caution than in fully dry conditions.

Today on Storžič. Started from Mače, snow starts ca. 1300 m, before that just patches here and there. To Kališče without winter gear. From there to the saddle between Storžič and Bašelj vrh. About 50 height meters above it still without crampons, then on the steepest part icy, so I used them. Such conditions for about 100 height meters, then to the summit without. Saw one who went through that part without. Snow soft, probably because it was very hot. New keepers at Kališče are great. LP

Thanks for valuable info. Wonderful tour! You can see there's little snow now, but the appearance from afar can be deceptive. As you say, it's icy in the scree before the ridge. Higher up the path goes to the "sunny" side, where the snow soon melts...
