Path from Bašelj along SW ridge almost entirely bare - step on snow only for a couple of meters at flat and completely non-problematic spot between little Storžič and path junction from SW gully.
This is the status today (28.5.). For path from Kališče two girls said just a couple of non-problematic snow patches. Over Škarjev rob you'll need to wait another month for fully bare path.

This is how it looked from Kališče on 26.5. In the lower part still three snow patches, goes without winter gear, from there on the path is bare half to the top.

Today from Laški along SW ridge. Path without features, only muddy from bench up to SW ridge, bench where left to Poljana, right to Kališče. At top sadly fog chasing, and quite cold, wintry. Descent to Kališče. No ZO needed for this path. Return from Kališče along cross path to Poljana, crossing two gullies with some scree, no issues. After traverse met even one hiker. Break at bench by decorated spruce then to valley start. In short still as nteam yesterday. First such loop, will repeat for sure.

Today from Gozd via almost dry Psica to the top of Storžič and then southwest to the traverse past Krničar back. Just below the summit I didn't tackle the snow patch with full winter gear but bypassed
straight up the rock (seemed poor 3 to me on the spot, trifle for experts  ). Paths well wintered. To Mala Polana also cleared of trees and branches. Further the traverse to the turnoff for Tolsti with some fallen trees. Two young enjoyed the summit via SW ridge which was probably a bit drier than yesterday .

Yesterday my hill-walker and I decided for Storžič. Clock already showed eleven when we left Laški. To Kališče hot, muggy, further quite bearable. At summit the windbreaker came in handy. Path without features. Met quite some hikers. On return at the hut we treated ourselves to beer and with view on the mountain short analysis of ascent. At five twenty-five already at car and feel first drops. Escaped rain again, like couple previous weekends. What followed then in these parts you know anyway, was on radio and TV too. We, a couple of ten km away on terrace at 29 degrees, bought ice cream.

Today from Jekarica to Bašelj saddle and from there right to summit.
To saddle cross small snow patch twice, nothing serious.
Descent same way back.
Road to start was open, but quite rutted.

Sure there's still some, otherwise when at summit just go look a bit and when it starts go back.

True. On Saturday I saw that experts bypassed that part of the path from the summit towards Škarjev rob and joined the path much lower, where I took the photo.

On Friday I'm interested in an attack on Storžič. Up through Žrelo, back via Škarjev rob. Read your comments, but still interested if there's still so much snow that crampons are needed, or can one go over Škarjev rob without them? What about through Žrelo?

Midday looked nicer, almost clear, then afternoon clouded over. Turned back on ridge somewhere, those dark clouds from all sides didn't look safe for ascent.
