Today I was up there, conditions not optimal but doable. The path is mostly well trodden and no sinking. But the snow (what else) is wet.

Beautiful day. At the start it was lightly raining, halfway the sun came out, higher up snowing nasmeh. Summit was deserted on arrival, so just me and the ravens nasmeh. I love snow in all its variants, so... beautiful day velik nasmeh.

The weather, as forecast for Monday, was clear - had to make use of it nasmeh. Already on Friday I somehow decided that now it's Viševnik's turn, haven't been there in winter conditions yet eekvelik nasmeh... The desire to go up in the snow nagging my head for a looong time velik nasmehmežikanje, now finally it's happened too nasmehnasmeh.
We started at Rudno polje quite late. Snow here still plenty... at least on the parking it looked cca. 1.5 or even 2m eekeek. Walking on the ski track nice in the shade nasmeh, which is more welcome on descent. We walked alone but expected some tourer zigzagging in the white mežikanje. At the ski slope soon felt summer heat, which accompanied us the whole way. Then it started sinking a bit velik nasmeh, but still bearable cool. Well, at the saddle amazing views open up... uff, how far the eye reaches nasmehnasmeh.... tempts to end the ascent there, lie on snow and just enjoy nasmehmežikanjevelik nasmeh... We lingered there a bit, then pushed on. Heat quite summery, so we longed for some shade eekvelik nasmeh.... At the top saw two tourers, so just us three on foot at that time. But when we arrived after 2.5h at the top, we were alone.... and how nice that was nasmehmežikanje. Not quite clear to me how towards Kačji rob everything is trodden zmeden, since from the top the ridge is all cornices eek... Enjoyed the sun and views, somewhat less listening to the rumbling and sliding of falling snow zadrega. Most falling from Rjavina, some from Mali Draški Vrh too. After some good hour got company... 2 walkers - probably regular visitors, and one snowshoer. We all got a bit scared from that rumbling velik nasmehmrk pogled. When I looked at Kredarica, found someone who went up there too, I assume a tourer. Well, around 13h we slowly headed down... Went okay to the saddle, then lower the more it sank eekmrk pogled... hehe, especially me who isn't exactly slim eekvelik nasmeh.... Heat still unbearable. When we reached the ski slope, happily walked in the shade cool, so our faces somewhat cooled from the sunburn. Followed cca. 15 min walk to the start.

Finally reached Viševnik in winter conditions too nasmehvelik nasmeh. Want this many more times, basically just because thrilled by the whiteness in the mountains mežikanje. Just waiting for those real winter conditions to finally use the big crampons too, which weren't needed this time. Had a super time again, hehe, always do.... mountains really rule nasmehmežikanje.
There was already too much snow on the parking lot for mid-April :-o1
When we girls went up the ski slope was deserted....well, it was quite ok since we were alone :-)2

Yesterday Viševnik served us a bit mixed, if I express it in restaurant terms. A bit of sun and lots of clouds from which some rain drops flew. Nature here is completely springlike and upon looking at the snowy peaks, we don't get the feeling that it's already June. The path is also weather-appropriate, wet and slippery in places. For dandelion lovers it's still the right time to pick it for salad, excellent. We ended the trip at Uskovnica, of course with struklji.nasmeh

We outsmarted it – the heat that is mežikanje. While it was dozing and not showing its »muscles« mežikanje, we two took the trail and climbed to Viševnik to await the sunrise. Since we didn't know exactly how fast or sleepy the pace would be, we took some reserve and in the end waited over an hour on the top until the »show« began. And it was beautiful, as only in mountains it can be. No matter which repeat you watch, it pulls you again and again.

Compared to »valley« temperatures of recent days, real »Siberian« cold awaited us on top. The southwester wasn't pleasant at all in those early hours, but cut to the bone. If we hadn't had a full backpack of warm clothes including gloves, we'd probably turn back. But it was good for something – the wind that is. It swept the stage – read: blew away the clouds so there was anything to see. Early morning wasn't at all as clear as forecasters promised.

We descended to Srenjski preval and onward over Kačji rob back to Rudno polje – my favorite path to Viševnik, far nicer than the »normal« one. On this side in the »little valley« there's still some snow, but no problem at all.
Although it's dark as in a pocket, we are on the right path... :-)1
Since we already see that we'll be too early, despite the darkness we're experimenting a bit with the camera :-)... nice bouquet of scones...2
Not far to the summit anymore, and dawn hasn't broken yet... 3
Finally the show has begun...4

It's brighter higher up...6
And it's out...7

Mmmm Gita, this reminds me of two years ago when I, similarly too early, waited for sunrise on Viševnik. Just that for safety I also had a sleeping bag and thermos of tea with me. Such silence neither before nor after have I experienced. nasmeh

Today my colleague and I were on Viševnik. Very few visitors, probably due to very low temperature and uncertain weather forecast (cloudy, poor visibility). No more snow on the path from ski slope up. Later continued to MDV and via Srenjski and Studorski preval back to start at ski slope. Towards Studorski preval crossed a few meters of snow a few times, but nothing dangerous. nasmeh
