Trupejevo poldne

Today I set out for Trupejevo poldne from Srednji vrh. By the Jerman stream snow starts at the water intake approx 100 m above SV. When you get about 100 m below Železnica there's so much snow it's worth putting on snowshoes, further along Železnica to the saddle between Trupej and Lepi vrh without snowshoes or skis you can't go. Up to here there were snowshoe tracks, further on untouched, even with snowshoes it sank over the knees. I climbed to the ridge (eastern forepeak), further too dangerous - windpacked snow, cornices, snow blizzard. For safe path to summit I think need to wait a bit more. Even without summit access wonderful tour.

@janeznovak, log in again under this title. Green windowlets show on right, click the one saying pics (that lil one). Then by pics X and mouse over turns red click it get rid of annoying pic.

Yesterday a larger group of us went to Trupejevo poldne. Start of the tour at Srednji vrh. The starting point is dry, but when we reach the stream, the first snow patches begin. With altitude there is more snow. To the hunter hut Železnica it still goes, then it gets worse. Because it was quite warm, the snow also softened. In places we waded to "ta-zadnje" and thus made a track all the way to the top. When we reach the saddle between Trupej and Lepi vrh, the path normalizes. The steepest part of the path is rocky, the short ridge under the summit full of gullies.
Descent along the same path back to Srednji vrh.

..Trupejevo poldne and a bit my own way... The path is really soothing, everything is green wherever you look. Views were fantastic in all directions.. nasmeh

Majda, I don't know this piece of mountains yet and I happily viewed your excursion from unknown to known. You're quite brave to tackle even completely unmarked paths alone! You obviously have good orientation and fitness. Safe steps ahead. best regards velik nasmeh

Finally at Trupejevo poldne; it is really beautiful, although hot hazes hid clear long-distance views and occasional dark clouds raised doubt about possible path continuation towards Maloško poldne; despite almost 960m ascent from Srednji vrh over Železnica, except the last part, the ascent completely flattens out; quite some visitors on top, but no hikers met on the path. Return part way towards Blekova planina; best regards nasmeh

Yesterday (almost) at Trupejevo poldne. Snow starts soon above Srednji vrh, snow cover thickness increases nicely with elevation. Mid last week once almost a large avalanche released onto the path from the foot of Kopišče. On Železnica already about 20-30 cm fresh snow, which did not bond with the old, frozen base. On saddle mandatory crampons, many places wind-scoured to ice surface, on ridge cornices and seracs. Due to large amount of wind-drifted snow on unprepared base, we turned back near the top, but someone behind us went to the top and avoided the cornices by descending much lower below them. General avalanche danger level 2 does not necessarily reflect the real situation on each peak individually. velik nasmeh

Today I did a circular tour: Srednji vrh - Hladnik hut - Grajšca - Kresišče - Maloško poldne - Trupejevo poldne - Železnica hut - Jerman - Srednji vrh. Weather just right for walking. Still plenty of snow: on Grajšca, Železnica and shady parts, but soft, so no winter gear needed. For me novelty new tractor track to Grajšca pasture. Water abundant everywhere, especially nice and full is Jerman waterfall - above tunnel over the road.
