Trupejevo poldne

Today, 26. 5. 2021, I set off in the afternoon for Trupejevo poldne. From Srednji vrh. As "pudl" already wrote above, there is quite some fallen timber, but no major issues. Orientation is also pretty straightforward, since when the cart track reaches the stream, you just follow the cart track along the stream uphill, when you get to Železnica, then just up the valley to the saddle and then left to the summit. To Železnica currently no noteworthy snow, but of course pretty wet as everything flows ... When you get to Železnica it's more or less all snow to the saddle. Half-erased footprints from a few days ago can help if you're here for the first time. And snow is still plenty in many places and will probably last a while before it melts. From the saddle onwards all bare, except one little bit right before the summit where instructions warn of danger. Well, if you go afternoon like I did, the snow is south-facing and no danger. Was first time in these parts today and it was really nice. Again sometime.

First hike to the mountain after the first snowfall this autumn.

Watch out for wardens. Parking lot is small, wardens write fines also for parking along the road..

On Wednesday first time on one of the most beautiful peaks in Karavanke. From Srednji vrh on foot to summit and back. Through Jerman stream valley and along Železnica to saddle and summit. Path is gorgeous not speaking of weather and views, all for 10 rating. Path tracked and nicely traceable, last ascent sunny but nicely passable. On summit warm, no wind and views far around.

For first tour in new year we went to Trupejevo poldne, choice was correct. Path well tracked, little wind on summit, views wonderful.

@velocy, looked a bit quickly from the saddle but because of the drifted snow the clear track in that direction wasn't visible so I'm not 100% convinced.

Thanks Alessio, no tracks towards Kresišča, now from the saddle the track only goes down towards LK Hladnik.
You pulled a great spur on Trupej, which nicely avoids all the ridge (o)traps.

Today first time to Trupej's Noon via Železnica. At 7:30 only one car in the parking lot, when I returned it was full. Snow starts above the village at the stream, the path itself is well trodden so no problems, didn't need crampons neither up nor down. It was a beautiful sunny day, no wind and with great views. I was alone at the top, on the way back met some hikers.

Sat for more than 1 hour just below the summit waiting for sunset. Larches are turning golden.

Yesterday lots of visitors at Trupej's Noon. Parking at Srednji vrh was way too small for everyone. Late start, only at 13:30. Never seen so many ranger notices in one place.
To the hunting hut below Lepi vrh via gravel road. Road nicely maintained. Lots of streams, right tributaries of Hladnik stream which was loudly gurgling in the valley, quite watery. Hunting hut in a very nice setting.
After the hut steep ascent along Žlebnica stream which also has plenty of water. Path trodden, in the upper part it fades a bit so we got a little "lost" and went straight up to the well-trodden transverse path. From there wonderful views of the walked valley glowing in all larch colors. "Panoramic" walk to the saddle calls for photos and admiration.
To the top path without features. Descent circular via Železnica along Jerman stream. First among glowing larches, then the world changes completely to deciduous and spruce forest, no larches. On return to Srednji vrh only three cars.
Wonderful day, warm, solitary, full of autumn shades. All the time in short sleeves. nasmeh

2.1, Srednji Vrh - Trupej's Noon:

Road to SV completely dry, no problem. Marked parking spots are few, so good to be early, I started at 8 from the parking, still 2 spots free.

Path to TP completely trodden and well traceable, snow starts after 15-20 min walk, before that very muddy. Path to saddle without features, from saddle left to top tough with sinking and especially struggling through bushes. Didn't meet a soul to the top, downhill about 10.

Recommend microspikes and poles, summit itself is bald (10m2 around the cross).

Start Srednji vrh (handing out ranger notices, even down below, paid spot for 7-8 cars, got a paid spot in the afternoon) and via Železnica, to hunting hut on grass, up pathless to Blekova and along ridge to Trupej's Noon. Larches starting to get color and only those on the ridge, still need to wait for golden colors. Saw one car to Železnica via longer road.

issuing fines, there were more cars around.... even those who parked properly didn't get one.

On Saturday a wonderful tour, right at Srednji vrh was the snow line, higher about 15 cm of new snow on a little base.
Winter gear was not needed, although some had crampons for a better feel.
There was a bit of a problem if shoes don't hold moisture well, because there was lots of water on the path in the lower part, higher winter cold.
Up via Železnica, down via Blekovo planina.
