Near Storžič there's also a gravel road from Lom pod Storžičem to planina Javornik (park a bit before the end of the asphalt in the village, where the quarry is). From there you can also go by road to Dom pod Storžičem.

Does anyone have any info on conditions on Storžič after this weekend? I assume the snow didn't stick that much?

Here, from Storžič via Žrelo. One of the most varied and quite strenuous, but really today I wasn't in the best shape velik nasmeh

. The trail is dry without problem.

Today through Žrelo to Storžič, descent via Psica and Velika and Mala Poljana to the starting point at the hut under Storžič. The trail is dry.

Start from Povelj towards Krničarjeva hut on Javornik pasture, from there upper path to Velika Poljana where I turned right over Psica to Storžič summit. On the other side descent via Škarjev rob to hut under Storžič, from there left to Mala Poljana for refreshment, then just descent to start. Circular trail wonderful, quite a few visitors at top, at parking in Povelj only my car, most hikers from Kališče direction and via Žrelo. And as predecessors mentioned, no snow on entire Storžič for one snowball velik nasmeh

Today I went to Storžič via Škarjev rob. At the end of the asphalt for Grahovše there is a sign prohibiting traffic in both directions, so I left the car there and went on foot. Quite some extra walk - 2.8 km and 270 m elevation. Gravel is in good condition. A bit worse only at the start, but you could get there with a normal car no problem.

Today at a friend's request on the path Dom pod Storžičem - Žrelo - Storžič - Psica - Poljana - Dom pod Storžičem.
Lots of visitors, the whole trail normally passable, crowds in Žrelo and on top, solitude on descent over Psica.
First we thought to leave the car at the no traffic sign, but all drove on, so we went to Dom pod Storžičem too, many cars there, you get there slowly nicely ... probably the sign is due to the bad road to avoid liability, unless someone knows if fines are issued?
At the end we went for štruklji tasting and a bit more for home. jezik

The light towards the Julijci wasn't the best.

I'm so ashamed that I haven't been to this hill for so long, which I see every day right in front of my eyes. They're fixing the road through Mače, so I was a bit worried how I'd get back, since I prefer to park by the stream. Despite the drought it gurgles nicely and is very welcome on the return. The road is really bad, but you can manage with the car, knees not so much. velik nasmeh

Greet Goran and continue to the summit in pleasant temperature. I leave the poles under the fixed cables, which apart from one are taut as strings. The fence was really a good decision a few years ago, since there's no more shit on top, but plenty before the fence and on the adjacent peaks. Up top a chatty young lady, in less than an hour while I stay on top with nice views, about ten hikers passed, none from my direction. Even on return Goran was alone in the hut - where are the times when hikers were crowding here.

Fehtarce, there is no more droppings on the ground.

The ridge between Košutnikov turn and Tolsta Košuta is a good grade II.

...as well as Bašeljski vrh, Mali Grintavec, Srednji vrh and Cjanovci.

...which wrapped itself in fog after the descent.

Yesterday for the first time through Žrelo to Storžič. Parked in Grahovšah near the quarry, nice panoramic path even to the hut, extends by 45 min. Climbing exemplarily arranged, not too slippery either. Ridge is exposed but never really direct deep view. Self-belay not needed, helmet mandatory, 20 m away rocks flew concretely once. Quite strenuous since ascent starts already at good 1300 m and doesn't let up to the top. Summit clean, a bit lower smelly littered. Descent over Škarjev rob is nasty crumbly at start, then goes fast. In exactly six hours 13 km and 1300 m elevation.
