One short section on the western side, but you can go up to Čukla without crampons/ice axe.

Bovec - Čukla and back. As Ljubitelj gora already wrote, there is some snow on the western side, but you can get to the top without crampons and ice axe. It was a beautiful day nasmeh

Rombon, from Kluž, 26 May 2019

The path is practically dry to the top. The last few meters still have some snow flanks but they can be bypassed.

Wonderful trip past picturesque remains - wall labyrinths, fortifications ...

Dear Lea; so many relevant and beautiful thoughts you've listed, I just can't believe the "soul" heading to this beautiful end of our land. I am too far from these beauties, though our land is small and time overtook me when I wanted to taste these beauties. I don't know why "pessimistic conclusion"; really your whole "world" is still ahead. Enjoy it with full lungs and warm heart and don't go to Triglav "full of shit".
Thanks for the wonderful depiction of the beautiful path and, do let me know again!!

Lea, nicely written. Interesting intro that makes the reader want to read to the endnasmeh. You can feel the energy and joy of living you have on outings. Nice to read others' experiences and discover places I haven't visited and probably won't in this lifezadrega. World spins too fast. Safe steps in hills and valleys further on, and write more. Yeah and this: have you two seen THIS!mežikanje

Vividly experienced and beautifully written, as always. Let it be permitted to me. Lake Predil has a nice Slovenian name Rabeljsko jezero, just like places, valleys and mountains across the border have nice Slovenian names, which once were not across.

Everything nicely said, as befits a soft Prekmurje soul.nasmeh
"Rombon has fallen", that's a bit too technical. Mountains don't fall, only people fall and there were once way too many of them on these mountains.mežikanje

When you go where it pulls you. And it pulled me past the church in Bovec to the hamlet Zavrzelno. At 8 a.m. I started walking. I know the path. Last year in June, there wasn't even a patch of snow. This year is different. I crossed and bypassed some snow patches. That annoying scree didn't trouble me either. The weather was nice today without precipitation. And warm, because apart from a t-shirt and pants I didn't need anything with long sleeves. I didn't meet anyone the whole way to the top. On the descent above the scree, two guys - foreigners who were going up. In the forest before Planina Goričica there is some low-hanging trees. You can still pass by anyway.

11.6.2019. From Kluž I haven't gone yet. Dario neither. Only Marjan has been here and showed us the history with sights along the path where we walked yesterday. The fear that rain would catch us was unnecessary, though it drizzled lightly a few times, but as if the raindrops no longer wanted to, they stopped. But we were wet anyway. From the stuffiness felt in the air. Like in a sauna, they said. We viewed Herman's fortress. Went to point 1313. There is a nice view of the Bovec basin, and they have put a bench, a cross and a box. Path continuation past walls, caverns where it is now full of flowers. Nicely routed path. We met hardly anyone. Still some snow patches toward the top. We stayed a while. We didn't even have rain on the descent. The wind even blew a little in places, cooling the overheated bodies. It's true as they say, where there's a will there's a way.

Hi, Rombon is not an easy peak, but with strong will and smart steps you can get to the top, stones shattered from grenades in the war all the way to the top, but it is recommended to see the mosque at kraljišče,nasmeh, that's on the picture where they were building the cableway and had a station of the Austro-Hungarians.

The mosque was the only one in Log pod Mangartom. For some time there was a Bosnian unit on Rombon. The Italians were afraid of them because they literally slaughtered them with maces similar to clubs when they broke into the Italian trenches. They didn't even take rifles and helmets didn't help.

There is a preserved mosque at kraljišče, the only still preserved one is of open type without a roof, because it was in the middle of the battlefield they had a cavern nearby to withdraw from heavy explosions of mortar grenades and howitzers and prayer space, minaret, it was more of an emergency improvisation mosque, yes true they had them in the first combat lines, Italians were afraid of them.

Maybe someone knows if there's still any snow on Rombon? I plan to visit it this weekend along the path from Kluže fortress.

If conditions are still wintery, the summit will have to wait a bit longer...

Thanks and best regards.
