I was saddened by yesterday's news here on hribi-net that suzaneM, who enriched our view of the mountain and hiking world with her contributions, is no longer with us. I think she left most of her descriptions right on these Matajur pages, which brought it so close to us from different access directions, in different seasons and at all hours of the day. She especially enthused me with her winter hikes and views of the surroundings. I think she posted visits to Matajur more than 40 times, thus surely entering among its greatest fans.
Unforgettable for me are also her snowshoe odysseys across white expanses (Komna-Vogel inspired me the most), with which she stirred my imagination and awakened inspirations for them.
With her pictures and words she garnered much admiration and gladly shared tips and details from her paths.
SuzanaM, thank you for all your rich contributions that remain with us and to which we can return with interest again and again.

I wrote the above sentence three years ago, I would like to repeat it, but sadly I can't anymore.
What I particularly liked in your descriptions and attached pictures was that you didn't stop taking photos in the mountains, but continued on the way home. For us Styrians, to whom the coastal hills are more distant, this meant a lot.

I met SuzanaM twice in the lower Bohinj mountains. Once she told me, what you experience, no one can take away from you and you take it with you. Rest in peace, sincere condolences to her loved ones.

I didn't know her and generally don't like reading long texts here on the forum, but hers I read with pleasure! So fluently and simply, yet detailed tour descriptions and I will do exactly what lubadar did - wander around Komna and dedicate a nice thought to her! Yesterday I read ločankin's text standing (had no idea), during reading I had to sit down!!

Although we wore out primary school benches together, we met after many years on Rodica and then I realized what our hills mean to you... it was nice to read your trip reports in picture and word.... once you told me.....By the way I never make plans. When the sun shines, I follow inspiration.

I also remembered SuzanaM on the way and as Ločanka rightly noted, the paths to Matajur were really hers somehow. In her memory I will post the second part of the post about wandering Posočje right here. Besides Matajur there are also Breginjski Stol and Tolminski Migovec on the link. The latter would fit better under the first title, but I forgot when combining hikes.

In Avsa 20cm snow and towards the summit more and more, by my estimate up to 80cm. Quite a few visitors, the hut of our Benečani a bit below the summit open. The track up is wide and well trodden, down we traversed (rather floated) on the old path past the Italian hunter's hut except for a short section as first and there it was well over the gaiters.
