I haven't managed to study the offered links yet (will do soon), otherwise attacking Fallbach on ju3. If anyone is going with me I can pick them up between 9 and 10 on the LJ-Hrušica route. LP.

I'm 15 years old and have little experience with ferratas (Storzic-through the hole), but great desire for them. So I'm interested how to start my path towards ferratas. Also interested which should be my starting ferratas or secured paths.

Best to visit the nearest PD and inquire there. Since you have whole life ahead, I advise you to start learning like alphabet in first grade. Many happy ascents and safe returns home I wish you.

For start tackle this ferrata:http://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?aut=1&gorovjeid=10005&id=2661&stran=1 Save Ganžarica for when you have some experience and mileage. It's short but quite hard for beginners!! lp

I don't know about Labot, but if you desire, first go once to Gradiška tura. Short approach and easy descent, especially can go winter in nice weather (watch wind). Ferrata not quite short, nor too long, as for difficulty in my humble opinion quite overestimated. Really no problematic spot up there, footholds always good and cable reliable. For comparison, that single steep spot on Pogačnikova on Šmarna gora much harder than anything on Gradiška. Though hard to compare paths where one takes good five minutes, other about hour. But Gradiška quite exposed, good small test before harder ferrata. Take via ferrata kit anyway, feel better (I usually without). From here you'll see how you do.

I think you've mixed everything up a bit. Mojstrovka, Gradiška, Prisojnik, Gonžarca, Šmarna gora.....

In the Meža valley I'm looking for contact with a person who knows about via ferratas for certain explanations.

Is the book by Binet Mlač from 2002 the latest Slovenian book describing safe movement on via ferratas, or is there something newer? Because I haven't seen anything else but these books in bookstores and other shops... I'm looking for Slovenian literature on via ferratas. Not guidebooks with descriptions of specific vias, but books on equipment, movement, grading scales, laws, so more general and up-to-date (i.e. what actually applies today)... Is there perhaps an English version of the Klettersteigfuhrer Osterreich book? Because in this Austrian book there's some stuff written, but very little translated . I'm probably too much of an optimist, but I'd still be grateful for any hint . Thanks!

Huda luknja – via ferrata ( PROFESSIONAL EXCURSION ) Blaž hasn't managed to take cave photos yet, or find the infamous "Black Widow" from years ago http://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=4&id=4165&stran=1. I'm posting cave interior photos instead of him, but I couldn't photograph the "hitchhikers in the darkness" despite great effort... Today, instead of mountains we headed to the underground world and climbed the via ferrata in Huda luknja cave. A few friends and mountain lovers gathered, and with professional guidance from cavers (Matic, Milan) members of Speleos-Siga caving club we visited the cave/via ferrata. We studied Mijat's report on his website: http://atv.hamradio.si/photo_album/Climbing_and_Mountaineering/Huda-luknja_06.06.2013/index.html Maybe some of us underestimated the difficulty rating a bit, which turned out quite realistic. The via ferrata is fairly demanding and climbing experience isn't superfluous. Sure, no hundred-meter drops underfoot, but dark abysses with roaring water where mutual communication is almost impossible. Don't think too much about what would happen in a fall without protection? Walls are slippery, sometimes muddy, holds polished, pitons hidden in darkness, no cables . Soon after entry (14:17), sweat drops start sliding from under helmets into the voids below. Heat evaporates from bodies in mists surrounding us (visible in photos) when we light each other. Photography is tricky and half the photos are useless. Camera gets muddy quickly and I watch damn carefully it doesn't slip from hands. Sturdy gloves (not via ferrata ones) are almost essential. Ropes aren't taut and from many hands become muddy, wet, slippery… I'd still choose boots over hiking shoes. At 15:30 we all reach the final siphon. Ahead a line for divers. The colleague next to me already worries how we'll continue…? We rest, replenish lost fluids and return in reverse order. The lifeline helps to clip in easier and photograph. I already feel fatigue in arms, as this is the first via ferrata in almost three years. Then the foot-wide bridge at the start, which caused the colleague quite some trouble when we entered the cave. Just before reaching the wall she lost balance, recovered from almost lost position and continued without falling. I had a bad feeling on return and clipped into short lifeline instead of full set. Midway on bridge I swung and confidently fell off it. Hung in air and became paparazzi target. I'd rather be safe and photograph all that… What can you do... Our way ends at exit at 16:45. Muddy, wet, satisfied, to cavers' hut for good service and analysis of the experience. Guys also have trekking variant, a bit easier: http://www.speleos-siga.org/treking/TREKING.htm Thanks to cavers for professional guiding, they enabled us to experience movement in underground world from another perspective. And of course to all participants for good mood and company among bats.. best

Stanko, really a shame you didn't join. It was something special again. If you and your group are tempted to try it too and entrust yourselves to professional caver guidance, just say - we'll arrange for the cavers to make time for you too (just say in advance). About the fall... I did pose, but I'd rather be on the paparazzi side best

Really interesting experience, which diligent photographers have fortunately immortalized for us. If you ever have the chance, I recommend it .
