For via ferrata lovers

When, after arriving from Cjajnik, I notice this post, I contact Mr. Kovačevič. He confirms that this via ferrata is really «concrete».
I ask him to take me along if he repeats the ascent. I have no references godknowswhat (via ferratas - number on the fingers of one hand). He saves me because he knows me a bit, otherwise he wouldn't take me.
3.8.2010 I get mail – Wednesday at 12 at my place and list of needed gear. I admit I set off with fear. I wasn't scared of exposure, but whether I'd hold up in overhangs. I relied on him, admit!! Of course, a bit on Mijo too…
Wednesday afternoon after checking gear and pro talk we're already going down the streambed of rain-muddied Bela.
«Concrete» is the start already. Random passersby from the road watch our dance on the wall. Soon I don't hear traffic noise anymore. All is devoted to the wall.
Lifeline is law (resting in climbing seat) – on Cjajnik I didn't use it once!!!
In final part, which is hardest, «skeleton of fallen climber» surprises us as warning!!
Completely sweated, I reach highest point of ascent and descent awaits, which isn't a piece of cake either!!!
By the way we check mines and observation post (Turkish raids), which then inhabitants used.
Nice, strenuous afternoon and again new experience!

Regards (some pic follows when Mijo sends it. Camera I forgot in trunk and DIDN'T MISS IT TO THE TOP...)

Looks (from Mijo's pics) super. And it's nice that it's not too far to drive. I've put it in my plan. Is the descent along the same path or down the other side?

Sure I'd much rather go somewhere to climb than drag myself on via ferratas, but I'm waiting for some alpinist to take me along.

Descent is then a bit further west and takes quite some time via ledges.
But it is interesting because on the way you can visit the mentioned mine tunnels and Pruti-Turkish observation post.
My personal opinion is that the path to Cjajnik (without drop to Škrbina) up and down was a walk compared to yesterday's tour!

For Cjajnik there are at least two threads already open, one here: http://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=11&id=734&stran=1
I don't know why it's necessary to always open new ones. If the climbing page has no "fix" function, it has "search".

Ummm... I think this isn't cjajnik, so the excitement is unnecessary.mežikanje

Igor, the thread is about the newly opened via ferrata in Železna kapla.
Instead of the title I pasted Mijo's link with the description published on Gore in ljudje.
My mistake. This is a post about Železna kapla and the ferrata opened last year.

Here, and Mijo's photos!
You can see I was suffering at some spots already. That gets slept off and one more experience. But Mijo taught me quite a bit about via ferratas!!!

I solo climbed the ferrata three weeks ago, needed 1h20 to the top. It's an exceptional ferrata both in difficulty and the pleasures it offers during climbing and even greater sense of victory when you reach the top. From the top nice view of Železna Kapla and surrounding hills. Otherwise the tour is already described on Hribi.net under BOŽIČEV VRH.

Since Mijo and geppo have very vividly presented an extremely demanding secured path to us, it might be appropriate that, once we see which age group is the most numerous on the hribi.net portal (by the way, my age group is doing very well), we ask Slovenian mountain lovers whether they are for building such paths also here (for now there are none), so we won't have to always drive to the shady side of Karavanks. Answers "yes" and "no" would probably be enough, but "I don't care" can be added.
Since there's a road below Železna Kapla, due to short approach on our end Igla - straight up from Presihačoga spring would perhaps be the most suitable for starters, and whoever still wants to walk a bit first, could go to Strevčeva peč - of course when it is (if it is) built.

If such paths "catch on", then even higher into walls, to ridges ... There are quite a few enthusiasts - it seems to me. winking

Ferratas yes, ferratas no??
From this post an endless polemic and a lot of proving the justification or nonsense of it can arise.
I won't polemicize and ramble about it...
For Igla - I'm against!!
For Strevčeva peč right away.
Probably a whole shower of criticism and justifications about the expediency of building such a ferrata will pour on me.
Yesterday I heard a lot about the construction of this ferrata that we visited. Who financed it, who built it and the sense of it???
Look, from morning to evening it's visited from far and near.
Even almost in the dark (despite the difficulty) we saw visitors in the entry part.
That's how it is...

Why not Igla? Wouldn't that be cool? "Full cool the best", as the kids would say. And the buffet is very close too smile

This one is just right for us old ones who are not capable of free climbing, very annoying for alpinists, everyone needs their own pleasures

Hi Bojan! Türkenkopf ferrata is routed circularly. You don't reach the summit via it, but just cross vertical walls towards the mine. When you reach the highest point, you start descending also along the cable (A/B) to the place called Türkenkopf. It's a narrow pointed overhanging rock (cable), from which there's a fantastic view of the entire valley from the edge. Then you have a few hundred meters more of cable, then you can choose right up along the wide path to the mines, or left down towards Turkish observatory and on to the parking (from road at sign into forest, left).

Anyway, check the partial description
HERE

Hi Mijo.

Thanks. I've already looked at your website. You have it super described and pictured. Last time we thought of joining you and Skolego on Kaiserschield ferrata, but we didn't have time.

I plan to do the ferrata on Hochobir sometime towards the end of next week.

Good tours ahead and LP,

Bojan
