Hi. Wondering if safe to go with "mini crampons", or need real crampons (don't have them yet). Know the path, but never in winter.

Yesterday on Viševnik, path well trodden, no issues, some with crampons, some without, crowds like open day velik nasmeh

Same today on Debela peč, but alone on top. Path trodden, so crampons stayed in pack.

Up to Viševnik on skis from Rudno polje. In the valley above the ski slope crampons are recommended, on the summit ridge snow is scarce. No skiing from the top, which we started from the ridge below the summit and skied to Konjščica. Saturday was busy from hikers to skiers.

Is the path from Rudno polje towards the small lakes normally passable?

Sure it is. Take at least microspikes, the path is usually icy. mežikanje

Yesterday from Rudno polje to Viševnik, then to Srenjski preval, descent to Jezerce on skis, then to Studorski preval, and back to Jezerce and Srenjski preval. Followed by skiing through Kačji rob back to Rudno polje. Crampons were quite necessary for me, especially back to Srenjski preval. Although, judging by the tracks, more skilled ones got to that pass on skis.

Everything is super trodden. Skiing was so-so - snow is quite varied.

Today a beautiful day on Viševnik, a bit cold and windy, but we liked it that way nasmeh

. On the whole path met only four hikers, namely one couple that overtook us, one soldier who also overtook us and a snowboarder on return.

So we had the summit to ourselves today, which you almost never experience on Viševnik. You have to be up there during the week and on a windy day, then nasmeh

On return we climbed also to Plesišče, and were enthusiastic about the slightly different view of the surroundings.

for a long time I didn't know which one Plesišče even was

on return we went to Plesišče, view to Triglav

on looking back we noticed two more descending as well

Great day in the mountains. Conditions up and down were such that we didn't need ice axes or crampons, even microspikes stayed in the backpack. "That's how it is", if you're not sure about conditions you just take something (too) much velik nasmeh

Towards Kačji rob it would still be possible to ski nicely, even from Plesišče to the start continuous snow cover. But what, when my thoughts instead of snow and skis wander to bike and sea zavijanje z očmi

On Saturday we ascended via Krucmanovi konti to the valley below Kačji rob and then continued the ascent along the northern slope of Viševnik to its ridge, where we ended the ascent. We skied on various types of snow along the ascent path. Slowly but steadily the sun is taking away the snow and more and more bare patches announce spring also in the mountains. Some Friday snapshots from the nice circular path over Veliki Selišnik to Viševnik. To Veliki Selišnik off-trail, but there are some cairns on the path, so no problems with orientation. At the top wonderful views, no crowds on the path. On Viševnik there were lots of mountaineers though.

On Sunday we planned towards Uskovnica. But we first went from Rudno polje towards Viševnik. It was a nice morning, peaks white. Too bad to miss a two-thousander, so we went to Viševnik. Visibility was good, Kredarica and Planika peeked out. From the saddle onwards some snow, we were a bit more careful, but all went fine. Some hikers were already descending, even more going up when we returned. Lucky that our little rose knows the unmarked path from the saddle past Zlate vode towards Planina Konjščica. The path is mostly traceable, in some parts it's great that someone knows it. In one part we climbed a bit over fallen trees, then back on path. When we reached Rudno polje-Jezerca path, we noticed a cairn. At Konjščica shutters were open, but no one at the hut...We continued towards Uskovnica, from the path saw nice mušnice. Noticed new sign for Uskovnica leading directly to the chapel. New hut at Uskovnica is really nice, food good, host friendly as always. They have dorms and five nicely equipped rooms. Enjoyed paradise on Pokljuka, views from Viševnik and Uskovnica...it was wonderful. Total 18 km, 900 elevation gain.

In winter even those who don't like early rising get their turn.)
The summit was very popular these two days after snowfall, so the track is comfortable, partly two lanes (one for skiers.) Also enough snow for skiing, but conditions not ideal.
