Today good conditions on Viševnik (30cm new snow); quite windy, so turned back already at the saddle. Sun quickly makes crust. In lower part of Viševnik ski slope lost black VW key, if anyone finds it please call me at 040860226

Yes, high mountains for us for those who obviously use Google translator for explaining all terms, starts at 2864 meters..
Decree on movement restriction existed before, tightened it precisely because of such "tourists". Only prescribed fines stopped them and nothing else.
Warnings and pleas though - despite known reasons joined by increased avalanche release danger - still too little, as evident from above "Volkswagen example", not mentioning lost "cases" at all..

Viševnik... Approach via usual path, past Plesišče. Path is nice, no snow on this side.. In initial ascent part lots of blooming alpine sow-thistle and rock jasmine. Strong wind whole way, pushed me around on ridge. Descent past Srenjski preval and over Kačji rob. Gully full of snow, also in hollow below Viševnik still snow, but walks nicely on it. No mountain avens yet. Have a nice one too.

Hello,
first time this year heading to Viševnik at night. Wondering if I need to watch out for anything special?
Lights powerful enough (bike lights -1100-1600 lumens).
Sunrise currently at 6:09, probably if plan start at 4:00 early enough. From memory up in about 1:45 - start from Rudno polje.

When I went to Viševnik from Rudno Polje for the first and only time, it felt like going to Šmarna Gora. So no need to exaggerate

I didn't mean the path difficulty - I regularly visit via ferratas and longer more demanding paths. I like Viševnik just for the view and relatively short path. I'm not a morning person, getting out of bed at 4:00 is already an achievement  In that case I'd have to get up before 2:00 because I have only 1.5h drive.

Well I have Led Lenser H7R.2 with 300 lumens and it feels like walking in daylight. In winter I regularly hike in the dark with minimum power. And once you get used to it, you can go without light in the dark and see quite well. Once I went at night for a test with monocular night vision goggles even to Kamniško sedlo. That's really tricky for orientation
As for early rising, it's not as bad as it sounds. You need to ensure at least 6-7 hours of sleep, meaning go to bed earlier  And you don't start practicing on the last day, but acclimatize a couple days before For example I now regularly get up at 4am because I do some training before work which I really wouldn't do in the evening. Once used to it, mornings are much better than evenings.
For Viševnik just download Locus map and free offline maps to your phone as backup. I often put phone on airplane mode there because signal is poor and battery drains faster. When you reach the end of the ski slope, the path turns sharply left after a while and steep terrain starts. When you reach the end where there's a small clearing with view over Planina Konjščica and pines begin. Here watch to turn right properly. That's probably the only spot to miss.
If you want to arrive at sunrise, count that it's already light about half hour before.

Conditions on Viševnik are nicely wintery, with quite some new snow and extremely heavy snowfall. At the parking lot rain and streams of water. Excellent base!

Yesterday's afternoon jump to Viševnik.
Enough snow, path already nicely trodden, just occasionally postholing here and there. A bit above Plesišče inversion softens snow but not too much. But below summit on steep grassy part huge slab of snow cover, just a matter of time when it releases and comes down...
Sun was nicely shining in the west!
