Does anyone know perhaps what the path through Žrelo to Storžič is like? I'm mainly interested if there's still any snow? Thanks for the reply

Due to forecasted afternoon thunderstorms I was already early at Dom pod Storžičem. Heading to Storžič through Žrelo. In the morning cool I cut well across the scree and quickly reach the entrance to Žrelo. Right at the start the rocks are really a bit greasy and the dirt on shoes doesn't help, so no very stable steps. A bit higher it's better then, dirt replaced by scree, rocks are dry, so step is much lighter. Sometimes I stop a bit and listen to catch some voice if someone is behind me, but except occasional rock snapping I hear no human voices. So better put helmet on. Nicely slowly I make it to the top of Žrelo. Walking the path and admiring green slopes on south side and thinking that chamois could really graze here. And I spot them, I stand and wait, they always jump away so fast I don't even have time to count them. I sit and watch them, they watch me. The young ones chase around mom and try grazing too. Slowly I continue ahead along scenic ridge to the top. Returning via Škarjev rob, and the path started in morning was closed. Nice greetings and safe to all.

On Saturday at 4.00 I park at the parking above Mače village near Predvor, head off in the dark towards Storžič, five past seven I reach the top, nice weather, before me Davo Karničar arrives at top, behind me two more, we took pics of each other and rushed off each way, I was in hurry because of hay harvest second cut, so I nicely ask all visitors on path from Kališe to Storžič top, do me a favor, on return from top I lost a small towel somewhere noticed only when I got to Kališe, I don't need the towel, pick it up and throw in trash bin at hut or in valley I'll be grateful from heart, I can't forgive myself that my trash lies on beautiful paths of our mountains. Whoever does it let me know in advance thanks a lot.

I saw your little towel on top, asked if anyone of present misses it and put it next to the logbook. It was gray-blue, quick-drying one...that was Sunday around 10:00.

I lost the towel during descent from Storžič top on way to Kališe, it's yellow-green color.

On Thursday I set off from Polje via Javornik to Storžič. I recommend the path to those who get "vertigo" because this path is not really "dangerous" at all but the whole path is damn steep - doesn't ease even 10 meters, you need condition to manage it. Started at 06.15 from parking in Polje and arrived at Storžič at 09.15 with stop at Javornik. Last and first water is at Javornik so recommend to stock up there. But the whole path at that hour was in shade so heat doesn't bother.

Of course I know Povlje, as well as its immediate surroundings and other starting points for ascent to Storžič. But first I thought Skorny just typed wrong once, then noticed he used the settlement name twice, so thought I don't know every little hamlet here near me...

The protections on the path through Žrelo are in impeccable condition, the path is nicely secured, equipped and maintained. With my son we spent a wonderful morning, it's been a long time since we saw so many gentians on and beside the path. Descent over Škarjev rob, where the path is also nicely maintained. LP Andrej

Yesterday three paragliders headed to Storžič. We started hiking quite late, so the pace was very fast. Path from Sv. Lovrenc led us via southern ridge to summit. So many gentians in one place I've never seen. After 1h 50min we stood on Storžič summit from where we flew into clouds and landed in Preddvor.
