Carinthian dialect group (koroščina) is a group of closely related and similar dialects of the Slovenian language (source: sl.wikipedia) Uršlja gora is actually a hill by altitude. This hill is officially called Plešivec. On this hill, or mountain if you like, that's on Plešivcu, there's a church, officially the highest located, though it stands more than lies, called church of St. Ursula. Sorry, didn't manage in dialect. Whichever one

This has already been written about in other topics, and it keeps repeating. Anyone who stands out in any way needs to be crushed, excluded, ... So what if they babble a bit in dialect. They have their days and I don't know why resent them for it. I always take such debates as a spice, especially on days when there's an acute lack of ascents and their descriptions. Anyway, years ago when I still hung around huts, I always felt great in huts under Peca or Raduha. There was always a party, good mood and authentic Carinthian dialect. Especially the caretaker of the old hut on Grohat sticks in my memory, who really knew how to cheer up everyone who visited that hut. And no one got upset that he spoke in dialect. Because it was self-evident!

dprapr, of course under Pejca and under Raduha it's not a party in both places, I'd say it's more like gossip though

@SanBurned Uršlja gora belongs to Slovenia, where we speak and write Slovenian ... @Hribovc88 After your recent posts I'm a bit disappointed, I thought you were really a sensible person, well a mountaineer ... but I see you behave like some kid who really stomps when doesn't get its way.

I read some posts back, and I'm really surprised by the negative reaction to the dialect. Dialect is to language like spice to food. It's no problem if someone doesn't understand something, they ask, if not interested, they don't read. I like it, whether I understand something or not . Come on, others also write in your dialects a bit, for spice and good mood.

@dragica... Just imagine if everyone on this forum wrote in their dialects, actually it's regional speeches... forum would become one big scribble and that's it... well your post is already a bit like that. No offense. Keyboard knows dots, diacritics, capital letter... LP! I was direct, let each take their own.

Come on chill. If user doesn't use diacritics, maybe can't switch keyboard to Slovenian, maybe software issue etc.

In elementary and also high school I had problems with Slovenian, in elementary even a year ahead with (1). Sorry if my writing isn't always correct, but it's a forum. If something is not understandable, ask or even on ZS.

@jprim "@SanBurned Uršlja gora is in Slovenia where we speak and write Slovenian ..." Carinthian dialect is also Slovenian and reading or hearing it is nice addition. Especially in mountaineering context where we roam various parts of Slovenia and meet/observe various people. Seeing so much uptightness in such hobby as mountaineering really surprises me. On this forum no exaggeration with dialects seen so far. Personally I'd love to read some real "oštja" report at Slavnik and don't mention some matkurba path description to Kum.

Wow, you're fighting for those dialects as if someone is taking away your freedom of speech. It's about basic communication on forums, which should be in reasonably standard Slovenian out of politeness and respect for all forum readers. But for some it's obviously toooooo hard to get. And I don't know why we're automatically labeled uptight, those who like reading standard Slovenian. For myself, I can say there's nothing better than reading nicely written descriptions, not because I'm uptight, but because Slovenian is so beautiful when used properly. And hats off to those who know how.

exactly that cebelca, you're taking away their right to express themselves in their dialect. obviously you don't realize that dialect is the wealth of every nation. and if I enjoy discovering the dialect of my nation, that's not a minus, but a plus, just like mastering any language is a plus. I hope that's not TOOOOO hard for you to get.
