Slovenian - ignorance or negligence?

Haha, good one turbo! That's otherwise harsh reality - insurance tricks and their fleecing.

With today's message writing I was positively surprised. The often misused "Edit" function pleased me. Thanks moderators! PS(now that I can ) I believe it will contribute to better readability of the forum. Best

Velesa! Be good and explain the meaning of the word "OJLA" to us, as I can't find it in SSK (Dictionary of Slovenian Literary Language). Thanks in advance for the explanation.

Explanation doesn't belong to routes and info on this topic. Anyway - it means some kind of greeting, like e.g. cheers Let it apply to you too Ojla, julius, satisfied?

julius, you don't need an explanation because you won't get it since not all words are in SSK. No hard feelings!

Oj! I'll add too. Ojla is a longer form of "oj", which is an Old Slavic greeting, or toast. Osti jarej means stay healthy and young. For years I've happily used the greeting phrase in private messages; nice greeting - osti jarej. http://www.hervardi.com/osti_jarej.php

I think that osti jarej could also be translated as stay healthy.

I'm not an expert, but by sound the word "jarej" reminds me most of the expression "jaro žito". If I'm not mistaken, that doesn't mean either healthy nor young, but early?

Jaro žito means grain sown early in spring, thus spring or also young compared to winter grain, which was sown in the fall of the previous year.

For some, mountains are the environment we live with. For others, just a sports tool.

Why so much excitement about "conquering"? This term doesn't bother me at all, since the word means (among other things) the same as reach (reach the summit), arrive at hard-to-reach places, simply get to the top. In mountaineering I've never taken this term militantly, like conquering territory etc. Maybe the authors had some more intimate relationship and instead of girls conquered Butinar's gully and neighboring gullies. I also think the excitement is totally unnecessary. Just conquer some goal that someone set?! Do we spank a child when it conquers the reading badge? And best regards.

Actually, this word is allowed if it's a demanding summit, first conquered, ... http://bos.zrc-sazu.si/cgi/a03.exe?name=sskj_testa&expression=ge=osvojiti For everyone who climbs a demanding summit for the first time, it's a great achievement and that's why probably thinking in that direction. But if it's similar achievement for a repeater according to his current abilities, he also thinks he conquered the summit. When he goes up the tenth time, he won't think about conquering the summit anymore, but will just enjoy. But this word is blasphemous in mountain circles. It was similar in the past with climbing gear. Until you were an ace, you had to hide it. Now it's all more relaxed, even with "conquering" summits. The main thing is that we all enjoy and allow others to enjoy too.
