At 8 o'clock we went up together with the cable car operators (on weekends you can go at 7 o'clock), at 18 o'clock we were in Bovec.

On Sunday I started at Kluže and climbed to Rombon. From there to Velika Črnelska špica. I descended through Jelenova rupa to planina Goričica and a bit on roads back to Kluže.
The section of the path from Rombon to the junction below VČŠ is quite strenuous, exposed at the start, poorly marked further on. I didn't notice the path from the junction directly to the saddle between the Črnelske peaks. Nor the water source a bit below the junction. Both are marked on some maps.
The path to VČŠ is really nicely routed, from afar you have no idea where you can climb so nicely. The path further to Goričica is well marked but quite strenuous - lots of zigzagging between boulders and lower down among nettles.
Altogether I met only 6 hikers on Rombon, then no one else. But I saw quite a few marmots, a flock of wheatears and I think a golden eagle.
Strenuous but nice tour, takes about 10 hours altogether.

Malo Ušje 2007m, Veliko Ušje 2048m and Vrh Police 2105m
These are two-thousanders on the western ridge of Rombon. Harder to find or locate than to climb them, because they are along the marked path Prevala - Rombon and only a few steps lead from the path to them...
The marked path from Prevala towards Rombon starts ascending towards the ridge again from Prišne glave, we follow it until it almost touches the ridge. Here we go slightly down over the ridge and climb to Malo Ušje 2007m. A look ahead along the ridge will tell us that there is a high probability that we will return to the path and climb to Veliko Ušje 2048m in the same way without groping through grass and rock.
Vrh Police 2105 also reached from the path further on, it's a double-headed peak, the easiest to identify of all three.

Rombon from Kluže. It was a beautiful day. Many of us were at the summit. Warm and calm.

Thanks Majda. Today he doesn't look tired. Seems quite a resilient breed. I was thinking of going elsewhere, but since he waited for me so faithfully I decided to take him along. I made sure he had enough water the whole ascent because it was warm. And I was more worried about the two-hour drive. But no problems. And I kept him on the leash all the time. He's used to it and walked nicely. A few times I helped him over the rocks because he has short legs.

Nice ... one day earlier I gathered info in the opposite direction from Kluže to the top and descent to Bovec. I'd just mention that the stamp or summit log box is still under snow.

Today I walked the path to Rombon.
Start from Kluže to the summit, descent towards the D cable car station.
From Rombon summit towards the D station the path is very hard to follow and in fog you can easily get lost.
After about one hour of descent the path towards the D station is well marked.

Hello, I'm interested if anyone from Bovec can tell me how the Rombon summit looks? Has the snow mostly melted? I'm thinking about a hike tomorrow.

On the left side you have the "webcams" section, among them also Rombon, so you can check. For approximate feel also the camera from Selle Nevee towards Kanin.
Right now not particularly cloudy, and you can see the summit is a bit whitened, but can't be much snow, just enough that it might be a bit more slippery.
