Sunday Rombon. Familiar trail for us. But in October it's really nice. No more scorching heat. No crowds on the path. Just the first part through the forest takes quite some walking before the views open up. Trail cleared where broken trees were on the path. When it looked like closing in below the summit, sky opted for clearness. Day rewarded with fine vistas. When you heed the call. Few of us, but all satisfied probably. nasmeh

although clouds sneaked in every now and then.

There were a handful of us at the summit.

20.11.2021/Today's Rombon surprised even me, all day sun, calm no wind, still visited for this time. From Bca to 1313 on to summit, descent through Naku to Čuklo and valley. Cloudless nasmeh

Rombon/Current conditions,,Solid,,with winter gear you can reach the top nicely. Snow is partly hardened, track made already,, snow still collapses near rocks,, I'd say all sorts,, every step must be thought out.

Bavšica and log under Mangart,,and everything from Mangart to Triglav

Nako /ascent route led more to the right for easier exit ,,if you zoom in more you will see

Rombon/3.1.2022/Four days ago I made an ascent to Rombon solo, it was wonderful, so today we did it as a duo,, it was magical and unforgettable. Current conditions from Čukla onwards are very tiring, strenuous and difficult. The problem is breakable snow, because you never know when your foot will end somewhere among rocks, scree or barbed wire remains, or in a deep hole under snow. Every step must be carefully measured and cautiously, lightly and gently executed. But all that is outweighed by the magic of Rombon.

everything is so beautiful/sea of clouds from the forevalley flooding the Bovško basin over Polovnik

Soon we have already entered the nicest part of the ascent

pure pleasure and infinite adrenaline enjoyment

and you enter another even more magical world

in the background Matajur and Kob.stol are peeking a little from the clouds

Rombon / view towards Mangart and Jalovec

from Jerebca across Mangart and Jalovec to Triglav

but still only pleasures even on the descent

at the right place at the right time.. magical Tihi ocean

and when we leave Nako ,, Čukla shows itself to us in a yet unseen magical form // it still resists.

Rombon was merciful yesterday. The day was really nice. A bit windy. But calm at the top. At 7:15 I started hiking from Zavrzelno on the known path. To Goričica it's dry. Then snow starts. From Čukla onwards I needed winter gear. The snow broke through a bit, but it was nice to walk. There were footprints in the snow. Probably from a long time ago. The path is known to me anyway. Below the gully you go more around, because otherwise on the summer path there's a lot of snow and it's quite steep. Since the gully is in the shade, the snow there was harder and it was nice to go. Then towards the top, part of the path is completely dry. Had to take crampons off. And put them on again in the last part. Here the winter path following the footprints is routed along the ridge. Whoever made those footprints knew the winter path. And just before twelve I was at the top. In the silence of the sky. Descent the same way. Had to watch for holes, because you can easily fall into them. Really nice winter-spring tour that I've had in mind for a while. And as Picasso wrote, everything we can imagine is real. Yesterday the wish was fulfilled. And thanks to the sky for a beautiful day.
