Velkavrh. You say you prepared well for the trail. If you had read the description in the mountaineering guide well, you surely wouldn't have had such problems.

Volk, Solido, thanks for, say, well-intentioned advice. If you check hribi.net you can see that I'm not a mountaineering beginner. But I really don't tackle unmarked trails. But I believe it would be really nice to meet you in some hut over some tea!

Really beautiful tour, some photos are similar to mine, especially the stream, this area is very close to my heart, here I feel at home, in two years my husband and I were there 8X, so we know quite a few hills and paths around, did you have luck stumbling upon the drying pond at Starih stalah, we sat by it and took photos. And LP!

Yesterday on Ojstrica from Planina Podvežak. Weather was nice, though some clouds stole the view now and then. Nice trip, recommend it. Road under the pasture well drivable.

Today we went to Ojstrica via Kopinškova path, sadly no wide views, top had annoying wind too. Path excellent, highly recommend!! Interesting thing happened. Been hiking long, first time rock ptarmigan attacked me. Think defending territory. Anyone know more on ptarmigan behavior, thx for reply. More on pics below. LP B

On fourth pic poor pup couldn't do the pegs to Ojstrica. Owner had another dog, carried that one first up. Meantime this one whined disturbing hikers and mountain peace!

I just can't get what's in people's heads dragging animals or tiny kids on such trips. Not saying some dogs handle it, kudos, some kids more exp than adults but not many. Seeing crying kids and yelping dogs squeezes heart and such hikers deserve solid slap ears

And how did that story end on Ojstrica, do you maybe know? aleš43?

jprim Normally, really normally, it doesn't bother me if someone goes to the mountains with a civilized dog used to the hills. Only the whining in the mountains, well, come on, we could debate that. I'm an animal lover and they don't bother me. In this case it was annoying that the pup set itself right on the shelf (see pic) and waited for the owner, ..AND.. "athletes" easily stepped over, climbed over it, but I had to show no small courage and skill on the crumbling drop to climb over it. I have a few extra kilos and not dewy youth anymore. Accidentally stepped on it too and it growled saying it disagrees with me! Me on the pegs, above the abyss, barking dog between legs! E, super combo! Well, it got solved when I pulled ahead. For punishment I snapped a pic of it. Up top, it would've soon nicked my sandwich! No panic! Even if it bit me in the balls, hey, no panic. Don't know why at all starting points it says dog owners must keep dogs on leash! How'd the story end? Those guys took off quick. Didn't talk, so... don't care what they did with dogs in hills, just imagine German Dogo and Rottweiler-like dog in front of you, in hills or elsewhere! Wonder if all would be indifferent! that's all

I too am a dog owner, who loves going to the mountains. He's been on more than 20 two-thousanders. Always have him on leash, but have problems because some loose dogs attack him. DOG IN NATURE MUST BE ON LEASH REGARDLESS OF BREED!!!!!!
