OK, thanks for the reply. I have no problems with height... but I just need nice weather, no fog again, as this year I really have no luck with the weather regarding the Kamnik Alps.

From the photos it really looks steeper, in reality, when you're there in front of the wall, it doesn't look very steep. That ledge is also wide enough for crossing, then left up. But that wall is really steep; when I saw another hiker looking from the top of the wall, I stared in surprise, but luckily the rocks were dry, nice weather, no wind, and it went up without trouble.

I'm wondering if it's possible to find drinking water somewhere on the path from Okrešelj to Mrzla gora?

It will be hard... at this time. But on 21.9.2010 I experienced such a stream in the gully that you follow to Mrzli dol.

Not that I know of. There's plenty up to Okrešelj, you still walk a bit along it.

From Okrešelj to Mrzla gora there are no streams, I arrive dry as pepper at Savinja and fill up water there.

I know that at the Savinja spring a bit below Okrešelj you already fill up that water, almost too cold to drink, otherwise I always have 3l of water with me on the tour

If you're thirsty you'd eat ice too.

Today 11.9. shortly after 6 set off from parking under Rinka waterfall in Logarska towards Okrešelj and further to Mrzli dol. Very few hikers in the morning given it's weekend and weather perfect. Then across steep grass into Mrzla gora wall, first some wires and pegs on path no problem (if you have some experience), second part gets real no joke (as Ljubitelj gora said), but went without issues, watch where you step and good grip. To summit in expected time, quite a few of us. Descent same till midway very tense then at wires out of harder part. Nice, lots beautiful views, adrenaline, great weather tho hot as oven in wall (I like it, don't like strong cold wind). Tough mountain (my hardest tour so far), Kočna fairytale compared. Regards!

This morning drove to Logarska dolina, from turning point set off to Mrzla gora. Good company Boris whom I meet at path start. Mountain worth all respect btw for more experienced hikers, quite airy and exposed in places. Also lots scree and gravel on path, almost no protections. Nice at top, bit foggy to Rinkas. After break with Boris real mind encyclopedia head back to Okrešelj for earned beer. Would highlight incident caught on my camera, deserves sharp reprimand probably more. Irresponsible from Okrešelj hut keeper how he let the guy down valley. Lp J

Congratulations Jozo Mrzla gora is really demanding, but once you conquer it the feeling is phenomenal, regarding riding the cable car to the valley some guy on TV already talked about the accident that happened because of that. Lp! Tone

Yeah thanks "pohodnik 38", I watched that show too when it was talked about descent with cargo cableway. If I have the right info years ago tragic accident on Komna when someone descended to valley and ended tragically. Lp J

Mrzla gora is a class apart, something special, very demanding... definitely better feeling if you have something to hold on to, which on Mrzla gora you don't experience except at the start. But when you have some major harder paths behind you the path is a bit easier.

Yesterday I was with friends on Mrzla gora from Okrešelj, to which I had a lot of respect given the described access difficulty and forum comments. It surprised me with a very well-marked path, good grip - watch for looseness - and easier access than anticipated. Definitely Mrzla gora is not for Sunday hikes. We had nice views to J.Kočna, Planjava, Ojstrica, Skuta and surrounding peaks in fog, unfortunately.

Mrzla Gora actually (in some way) among more demanding peaks in KS Alps, that's why many "save it for finale" i.e. when done all summits in range. Some places peg or meter of wire welcome (talking ascent I know only from Ledin direction then up to Gora, descent same path). P.S. - regarding descent with cargo cableway, about 20 maybe more years ago ended same way my late dad's colleague (Lado Golob), when (voluntarily) renovating enlarging hut at Kokrsko sedlo and wanted to ride down cargo cableway, nobody knew sadly lightning damaged cable night before on which cableway hangs!

@kolpa I was up there on Sunday and everything was ok, only if you're looking for peace it's good during the week when there are no people I'd also add that only those who have already conquered some serious peaks go up there... I had the chance to see a guy and a girl turn back at the part where there are no more cables (halfway up the path)

On Saturday I plan to go up! Please someone tell me if the path is well marked!!! I'm a poor observer myself and I often get stuck, wasting time and getting angry.
