6.10.2023 Beautiful day and off-trail hike from Matkov kot along hunter's path to Matkova Krnica then to less visited and very demanding Krnička gora, along ridge to Mrzla gora, descent to Latvica.

Yesterday, a successful unsuccessful ascent to Mrzla gora.
I knew there was snow, didn't take gear, and don't even know why I didn't stop in Logar Valley when peaks above Zabrložnica were already bathing in the sun?! Anyway, park and go!
Turned back where the cable drops to the Austrian side for the second time. Ice-covered rocks deterred me from continuing, summit not important! Slowly descended and enjoyed the views. From the junction continued to Ledinski vrh, where it was blowing like mad, otherwise no issues. More in photos. Cheers!

I descend a bit further down here, then decide it's enough

from Savinjsko to Jezersko sedlo some sinking and a lot of wind all the way to Ledinski vrh

on the way back it started to snow lightly

When someone reminds you with sent photos that you haven't visited the "cold one" for a long time, concerns about age and excuses of no time run out.
Today conditions were pleasant. Hard snow in the morning, on descent after 9 a.m. already so softened that glissading with crampons was possible. nasmeh

Snow starts below Škaf and can be followed on the winter variant almost all the way to the Latvice summit. The drop below Latvice is passable left of the pegs. Ridge to summit bare, or two small patches avoidable. So from Latvice summit onward without crampons.
Beautiful day in Matkov kot.

Two are returning from the direction of Savinj. saddle.

Flowers below, snow above. Can it be even prettier?

No. By eye approx. 8 m. It's forming quickly. In the last 5 days it supposedly doubled. It's not finished yet. But soon.

There is snow when crossing the gully before the entry to the secured part, but only a couple of meters. The rest is bare.
