Thanks Primož for the post. I planned to go to Kranjska Reber on skis but from the pics I see I missed it. We'll wait a bit more for new snow hoping they won't lock us in municipalities again.

Today wonderful hike in beautiful warm, windless weather to Kašna Planina starting from Črnivec. Path over Kranjska Reber to the pasture is well trodden. Views wonderful.

On Saturday, 16.1. same path as the previous one. The photo report was so nice it excited us. At Črnivec police directed traffic, no parking issues. Initially cloudy, then cleared up, on return enveloped us in cloud again and escorted us to the car in the sun at the parking lot. Wonderful winter path, no dangers. Views in the open part of the path really very nice all around. The youngest repeated several times that we have to come here every winter. nasmeh

Already heading back to the summit and into the cloud. It became very cold in an instant.12
The little spruce on the summit, which had sparkled in the sun from the snow just before, was in the fog.13

We two visited Kranjska Reber on Sunday. At Črnivec there was already early morning police control, during our changing they turned back quite a few cars heading to Gornji Grad. Views of snowy KSA were beautiful, but quickly thick clouds pulled in from southwest. Quite a few people, mostly skiers. Very nice winter day.

Yesterday lots of visitors at Črnivec, sledders, walkers and skiers. Did a longer route to Kašna planina and its peak. Hope the snow holds despite today's drizzle from the sky.

Today a nice circular route in cold and windy weather to Kranjska reber and Kašna planina. From Kašna planina descent to saddle Na Kalu and along the road to Črnivec. The road is poorly trodden with lots of fallen spruces, so some gymnastics on the path is needed. At Črnivec today police checked passage between regions, they were friendly and just warned.

Path to Kranjska reber is almost all in Savinja region. Aren't they checking hikers?

Indeed, franca, but Črnivec is a good spot for checking passage, no wonder control there, hard to slip by. Nice loop, skala123! Extraordinary backdrop from Dolgi hrbet to Skuta!

If so pedantically following rules, they should fine all parking at Rakovih ravneh (quarry) below Vel. pl. not from Sa-Ša region. Whole road from Raka to Rakovih ravneh incl. parking is in Luče municipality.
Which would be idiocy, as parking owner is Kamnik municipality.

Today summit excellent, even better exceptional viewpoint. From Kum, Menina, Golt, Uršlja gora, Smrekovec, Komna, Travnik, Raduha, part Olševa, across KS Alps (near Velika planina, Lepenatka, Rogatec), then Ratitovec, Blegoš, Trnovski Gozd, Javornik, Nanos, Javorniki, Snežnik...

Path a bit icy in lower part where hard snow licked by sun.

Saw about 10 ski tourers, tempted me too...

At Črnivec it's crowded, barely found parking. The path led us to Kranjska Reber (Kašna Planina Peak) and from there descent to the pasture to the shepherd's hut. Along the way we met quite a few touring skiers and hikers. No wonder, when the weather is so nice, it can't get better.
Paths are well trodden, didn't need winter gear. Return the same way.

"Garmont" also in our plan was a circular route. But on the way I learn that the path isn't trodden and there's lots of fallen trees there. So we decided to return the same way.
