Hi.
Does anyone know how much snow is left from Volovljek to Kranjska Reber. Could one still make some turns on skis.

Kranjska Reber is still completely snowy. I went today from Črnivec over Lom and Plešivec, steep southern slopes above Črnivec are already quite bare, on northern ones there's compacted snow cover. I think you can ski from the top down to Volovljek. Snow: powder, crust, frozen

Big thanks for the info. Haven't been anywhere with touring skis for quite a while, and Kranjska Reber seemed suitable for a test if any skills remain.

Apparently on the road from Rak towards Kašna there's quite a lot of fallen trees. That's the info I got, but I didn't go that side myself.

Today on Kranjska Reber from Črnivec. Žiga at the top sadly no more. On the path I also spotted quite fresh bear tracks.

Kranjska Reber, then it started snowing. To me very nice spots, so homely, meadows, grass, pastures, forest, spruces and all nicely arranged.

KRANJSKA REBER + REPOV WATERFALL
We nicely combined both trips yesterday, both together really a good idea. Thanks to Nina who offered this option in commented trips, as we both heard about this waterfall for the first time.
For the starting point we chose Volovljek pass or Kranjski rak, and headed towards Kašna planina on the snowy forest road among richly laden spruces. Already on this path some nice views towards KSA, much more from the path junction to the shepherd hut and even more from there to Kranjska reber summit. On one side mighty Rogatec rises in view, bordered on the left by Raduha, on the right by nicely snow-covered Lepenatka and this sight really attracts the eye. On the other side all KSA main peaks rising behind Velika planina and continuing among spruce tops to Raduha. In between we climbed the rocky peak by the path Barona peč, to which a bit more effort was needed as no track there yet.
At the top complete calm, no wind, only a couple of hikers.
The sight of the 3-step Repov waterfall in Podvolovljek is truly magnificent, but the path there needs caution now, as the little bridges were slippery, the railings a bit shaky, the path sections in parts already a bit eroded. So great, but careful to the waterfall! From the waterfall we returned by another path to the road a bit lower.
