On Friday excellently trodden path, crampons or snowshoes to the hut not necessary. For enjoying the beauties a bit further ahead snowshoes more than welcome.

Does anyone have any information on what the path to Komna via Komarča is like?
It says difficult path, but judging by the pictures it doesn't look exposed. Any information on difficulty in this time of year/snow.

Komarča in winter conditions can be quite nasty. Usually they don't go there in winter. From the lake to Komna I doubt it's trodden. A couple of days ago they rescued two mountaineers there.

@vargapa1: the path is fairly exposed all the way, pics maybe deceive because walking in forest no feeling..otherwise steep, hence cables and pegs - on purpose..other obstacle at top Komarča, no track big deal to wade through esp for who hasn't done dry and doesn't know terrain..careful, luck!

In Dom na Komni met local few days ago who says usually no mountains winter but this time exception. Talk turned to Bohinj triangle. Said if want to disappear from world go to Komarča no one will ever find you full of holes.

On Wednesday evening, an hour before 'pančeva', Darko calls me and soon our tomorrow's goal is known. In the sun to the open hut, of which there are very few weekdays here.
During ascent enjoy fresh snow bliss, as shortly before nine we start first. No wind, cold not too bad, fog cleared soon. 7cm fresh powder that hadn't crusted even on return. Really super day and except hut keepers and 30 'day-trippers', didn't meet a soul.

On Saturday, 26.1., somewhere halfway from Komna on one of the steep shortcuts between switchbacks a silver men's watch slipped into the snow. If someone spots it by chance, please contact GSM 031 463 828. Thanks.
