Saßenegg is 2950 meter high peak and is part of the Rieserferner Group. The peak is located 0.6 km northwest of peak Bärenluegspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Affentalalm, located 3km north-northeast. A little further is Bacheralm. 5 km east-southeast of the peak there is lake Sankt-Josef-See. 2 km east-southeast from the summit there is glacier Fleischbachkees, 5 km south-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Lenksteinferner - Vedretta di Sasso Lungo.
