Smolnik

Description of peak:
Smolnik is a steep 1075 m high peak - a solitary peak below Valvasor's house, rising above the Zavrh (Završnica) valley, with a view of Hochstuhl, Jelovica and the Ljubljana basin. There are two benches for meditating and enjoying the view. This, the eastern neighbour of the better-known and slightly lower Mount Ajdna - the "stone jewel", as some like to call it - is an intermediate destination for many hikers heading towards Valvasor's home from Poljana in Završnica, mainly because of the view, which is unmatched anywhere else in the surrounding area. Many take it as the final destination of their trip.
