Zadnjiški Ozebnik

The path through Zadnjiški dol is cleared and passable without issues. At the saddle Čez dol we turn right onto an unmarked trail, which is normally traceable and leads to the panoramic summit. We descend through Trebiški dol and along the circular path Glava back to the starting point at the TNP Information Center Na Logu.

We too on Saturday, 24.7.2021, to Zadnjiški Ozebnik, like the predecessor, just in the opposite direction. We met on the summit and had a nice chat.nasmeh

Start at 8 a.m. in front of Dom Trenta, parking well occupied. From the hut we followed signs to Gmajna and joined the marked path just before the bridge over Beladovec stream. During the ascent through Trebiški dol we explored the pools of the "small waterfall" and refreshed ourselves in Trebiščnica. The river accompanies the walk with roaring from the gorge below for quite some time. Higher up there's still lots of snow in the gorge.

The path to Trebiški dol is quite long, but upon arriving at the planina the effort is instantly rewarded. On the planina flowers without limits and views to summits above the valley wonderful. On the path we met only a few people.

The branch to Zadnjiški Ozebnik is well marked and impossible to miss. Cairns very inventive. The trail to the summit is very well trodden, scree doesn't hinder walking. But quite steep. nasmeh From this part of the path very nice views. All the time Zasavska koča at Prehodavci nearby. Well, at one moment we looked at it eye to eye, then rose even higher. The summit of Zadnjiški Ozebnik is actually 13 m higher. nasmeh

The summit is a wonderful panorama point in all directions. Despite clouds, it exceeded expectations. Nearby Veliki Konj will wait for later. On descent we saw someone ascending it.

Circular descent through Zadnjiški dol. Completely different world, even more solitude than before. On the path four larger snow fields, but they don't hinder walking. We bypassed two, "skied" over two. Lower down at the rock marker water flows, nicely refreshes. Just before the macadam road we need to cross a lively stream. We stopped there and soaked our feet. Water expectedly cold.

The day was hot, so even roaring Krajcarica didn't emit its usual coolness. In front of Dom Trenta an outdoor exhibition of large photos and they were preparing for the event on the TNP anniversary.

PS: As we talked on the summit - we didn't manage to find the mulatiera on descent and crossing the little bridge didn't go well for us either. nasmehnasmeh

10.8.2021. Yesterday we circled all paths to Zadnjiški Ozebnik. Well, we didn't go down the one we planned. Local Lojze advised against it. Although the path from building remains above Glava is visible, it gets lost lower down. Or overgrown so we wouldn't find it. That's what Marijan and I experienced last year. When we turned back on Planina Trebišina after unsuccessful search. Still we found the little path from buildings, going under Konj summit. Really interesting panoramic trail. Full of edelweiss. Some visitors on summit. Views really nice. Just too hot and almost no wind. 18 km walking and 1400 height meters from Trenta.

15.10. to the "balcony" with the best views to the Triglav kingdom and summits above Zadnjica.mežikanje

A couple of days ago my eyes started wandering to the nicely whitened Kanjavec and I really wondered how those mighty walls look up close. Besides, I was interested in how the larches "progress" with their beautiful colors...
The path over Lepoč passed quickly. Due to the fairly low temperature the pace was quite serious. I haven't been so happy for sun rays for a long time, which caught me with their warmth a bit above the saddle Čez Dol. On the saddle itself Triglav appeared like a vision with an incredible snow coat.
Although from the saddle to the top of V. Konj only a few snow patches were visible, above 1900 m the tour became a bit wintery. From the pronounced valley bottom ca. 20 cm snow, but no problem. In the short ridge before the summit a bit more drifted snow, but the predecessor made deep tracks.
On the summit incredible views. Already crazy views on such a nice day even more enchanting. I had no hurry to leave the summit. Capture all these views with eyes, photograph it all, fill up with that energy...
On descent I made a short detour to the abandoned planina Trebiščina and enjoyed the view to Špičje.
On the whole tour I met only one cyclist. nasmeh He was returning via mulatiera from the direction of Prehodavci.
Well, larches will be in true colors probably in some 2 weeks... But even without their colors the tour was gorgeous.

Yesterday's day in these parts was simply fantastic. And not just because of the wonderful weather in which yellow larches glowed, but due to successful discovery (thanks to navigation!) of long-forgotten trails and mulatieras. We started in front of the museum in Trenta, ascended through Zadnjica to sedlo Čez dol, where the sun first caressed us, and reached the summit on the sunny slope. We had visited Zadnjiški Ozebnik several times before and each time wanted to discover something new. This time we decided to find the path from the summit under the NW slope of Veliki Konj to the remains of the barracks under Velika glava. The abandoned trail is hard to follow at the start due to screes and unfriendly terrain, but an experienced trail finder easily finds it with careful observation and navigation help. Below the saddle between Veliki Konj and Velika glava it becomes nicely visible and no major issues to the barracks. Encouraged by success we decided to try the mulatiera descending from the barracks to Planina Trebiščina. The attempt two years ago ended with a steep grassy off-path descent to the entrance between Velika glava and the planina. This time the feat succeeded brilliantly. On trodden grass and cut scree it is visible that the mulatiera is not completely forgotten. Here and there a bit overgrown, partly collapsed, but always nicely traceable. It winds mostly through larch forest, so we were rewarded for courage with unforgettable autumn motifs and unique views to the Julijce. When we reached the planina, we took the route through Trebiški dol and after 10 hours, 21 km, 1680 height meters and 274 shots (yes, photography is time-consuming) arrived back in Trenta in pitch darkness. If any adventurer wants a GPX track for reliable finding of the described trail and mulatiera, they can contact me. Enjoyed Ž&M

Wonderful sight already on the monitor, how colorful it must have been in real life. Praise for the vivid description and wonderful pictures. If anyone is delaying, they should hurry. Sunday's view from Čisti vrh reveals the process of larches coloring from green to yellow....needles will soon be able to fall off....

Today was also a wonderful day for visiting the mountains, which my friend and I used for ascent to Zadnjiški Ozebnik.
We started shortly before 7:30 from the parking lot before the barrier in Trenta (turnoff to Lepoče), where there were only very few free spots left. The locally idyllic path through forest past small waterfalls went quite quickly and soon we reached saddle Čez dol through Trebiški dol. The junction from marked path is nicely marked with cairn and trail to Ozebnik is fairly well followable everywhere, obviously well maintained (cut brushwood). At the summit no wind and wonderful view to peaks especially northwest of Ozebnik, also to Prisojnik and Razor. Then before descent along ridge over some forepeak we climbed also to Veliki Konj - although ridge looks quite overgrown with brush, there are nice trodden passages everywhere and Konj proved completely unproblematic. We descended via Zadnjica, thus fully circling Ozebnik, orientation "detail" of the hike was navigating paths from parking in Zadnjica to Info center, as for variety we detoured via Krajcarica and struggled with shepherd fences.

You're right. Actually interested in Veliki stolp Kanceljnov 2133. Of course your pic is nicer as peak on horizon, otherwise it'd hide in gray walls of Prisank as you mentioned. From top pic both almost eye level (49m diff) and pic only slightly distorted.
Anyway thanks for nice pics. Keep enjoying and best wishes.

5.11.2021. First snow fell. We didn't go to the top of Zadnjiški Ozebnik. Only to the remains of buildings from Rapallo border time under Velika Glava. Days are shorter now. At seven we started the walk from Lepoče on the gravel road. We planned to the shepherd hut then off-trail to the barracks. But we changed our mind en route and turned to planina Trebišina. Already before the planina the sky closed and it started snowing. Then the snow stopped. Last year with Marijan we vainly searched here for the mulatier path, which was once visible. Now there was no worry about not finding the path. Grega Žorž walked here and sent Marijan data of this path. Indeed we had no problems at all. It is interestingly routed. And it is not short either. The higher we went, the more snow there was on the path. It was no obstacle. Around twelve we were at the remains of the buildings. We didn't decide for the summit because the sky was closing and then opening again. It was also cold. We descended on another path past the shepherd hut to the starting point. We met no one the whole way.

Yes really despite unstable weather when we had rain, snowing, sun and wind we were all three very satisfied with the tour. Now we have walked all paths up there. And especially happy that we found this old mulatjera from planina Trebišina. Last time Podskalar Lojze who was on Zadnjiški Ozebnik told us not to go down here preferably because the path is overgrown and we'd have harder time finding passages. We listened to him and waited for autumn when paths are better visible. And we toasted too. nasmeh

Nice that you managed to find the path. The entire route of the mulatjera that artillerymen built in 1940 I have drawn on OSM and it's available in all maps using this source. Real problems with "visibility" start on the section from the barracks towards Zadnjiški ozebnik where scree fields covered the walls. But orientationally nothing special. As always - path not marked not maintained and as such strongly at own risk.

Yes I remember last year I think early October we went from the barracks along that path. Marijan then used exactly the OSM map. Still we searched several times for passages where there was fallen trees. Then on the scree in the last part it wasn't even difficult anymore. There the little path was even visible. But this path is quite long. But interesting. I think few people go on it. And thanks for the help. nasmeh
