So that there won't be too many problems finding the track from the summit to the barracks and then the mulatjera from barracks to Trebiška planina (or vice versa), I post our GPS track on https://www.hribi.net/gps_sled/trenta_-_zadnjiski_ozebnik_zadnjiski_ozebnik_-_mulatjera/753

From Trenta behind Lepoče we head towards Zadnjiški Ozebnik. The path currently runs on the shady side but doesn't deter us from the desired summit. Until arriving at the hunting hut in Tribiški dol we hoped the trail would be made and it would go without problems but nothing of that. We continue to the saddle over Dol hoping for more luck and that someone from Zadnjica came and eased the ascent but nothing of that so we had to take care of the exceptional day in exceptionally nice weather ourselves.
Path from Trenta to here nothing interesting, it drags on and on,,1

On Saturday, thanks to our guide, we were on Zadnjiški Ozebnik, most of us for the first time, there were nine of us. We went from Zadnjica valley towards Prehodavci, then right on an unmarked but well-traceable path, lots of cairns. The path is varied, there were still some forest strawberries, blueberries, mainly beautiful bunches of edelweiss... Views magnificent, from Jalovec, Mangart, Prisojnik, Škrlatica, Triglav, Lepošpičje to Čisti vrh and Velika Tičarica, which we visited recently. We enjoyed the summit ourselves and imagined what crowds there are on some peaks. It was worth the effort of 1400 m elevation gain. It was one of the hottest days, but on the ascent we were early enough and it didn't burn yet. When returning, it got hotter and hotter. Grateful to the guide for the excellent choice, all of us, especially Ana, who had waited many years for Zadnjiški Ozebnik.... it was nice.

18.05.2023. Today's day was good and full. Allowed to fall asleep. Roughly like that, it goes when you don't know the conditions. Even on known paths, it happens that from below you see dry land and think, no problems. But when you get there, everything's different. Snowfall previous days gifted quite some snow to Ozebnik. Who'd think there'd be snow patches in that last passage. Where it's smart to turn back. Although we were just a bit short of the top. Snowfields were among scree. There navigation came in handy in spots. Some drizzle during ascent, but it stopped quickly. Heard rumbling of avalanches somewhere around Kanjavec. And that several times. Not safe to go there now. Added up to 1458 elevation gain and a bit more than 17 km. Not cold at all. Not windy either. Just the last part on the gravel road to the barrier dragged a bit. Those bends didn't want to end.

Yes, of course there are avriklji. Water flowing over rocks diligently wets them above the path.

Dry conditions, first to Zadnjiški Ozebnik then along the ridge Veliki Konj all the way to Velika Glava. Here I had to cross scree a couple of times. The path under the head is there and gets lost lower down towards planina T. No rain.

Stop and stand still to hear the silence. Yesterday, July 30th, we didn't meet anyone on our path from the shepherd hut to the summit and on the descent. Some foreigners going from Log in Trenta to Prehodavce. One lost his phone. We took it to the police station in Bovec on our return. Hope he finds it again. Our path was long. Past remains of barracks from Rapallo border time. Then descend down the path drawn by Grega Žorž. This goes all around and straight to the summit. Once the path was traceable. Now long gone. There we lost some time because we went too high. Went back and went correctly. On top great views. Descended to building remains. Then further, decided whether to go to planina Trebišina and path to valley. Or on part of path to planina turn to once visible path that also leads to lower path at one weekend house. But those paths so poorly visible or gone. With navigation help we managed it. Demanding. Full of leaves. Had to be careful. Hours showed 16 km walk and just as much elevation.

Yesterday at this beautiful viewpoint with a mini extension to Veliki Konj.

Trenta-Zadnjica-Zadnjiški dol (along mulatjera)-Čez dol-Vrh-Veliki Konj-Čez dol-Trebiški dol-Trenta-swimming in Sočavelik nasmeh

Original plan, return over Veliki Konj and past military remains in Trebiški dol postponed to cooler, autumn days due to abnormal number of ticks on the path. zavijanje z očmi

On the way to the saddle, wondering why the marked path isn't routed along the abandoned mulatjera, which is so pleasant and easy to follow.

At the saddle a real botanical paradise. One of the rare paths that I will remember also by its scent.

Pasque flowers peeking towards the sun and butterflies pollinating everywhere. This is definitely one of the nicest paths I've hiked. Obviously, the blooming time in June only adds to the beauty. Fragrant wolfsbane present the whole way to the top. This pleasant scent literally imprinted the path into unforgettable memory.

Towards the top, you don't know whether to look at the views or under your feet so as not to step on a marmot, which are plentiful everywhere.

I took quite some time to enjoy the incredible views all around, even peeked a bit into Dovje over Luknja velik nasmeh

On the return via pathless terrain to Veliki Konj - which looks nicely accessible along the ridge from old military remains. Mini ridge scrambling was the icing on the cake of the tour.

The initial part of the path towards Trebiški dol has the right base for tired legs. Shame it's not like that all the way to the end velik nasmeh

We finished the tour with swimming in the Soča, which anchored the already beautiful tour even more firmly in memory.

With a comfortable pace and breaks it came to 9h, 1600 elevation gain and 22 km.

Ben

Hello, this peak has been tempting me for some time and I wonder how best to do a circular tour? Which path up and which down? I'm planning for the summer season, of course, so no need to worry. velik nasmeh Thanks!

I suggest parking before the barrier on the gravel road to Trebiški dol. There is space for a few vehicles and I think it's still free. Then through Trebiški dol to Zadnjiški, I recommend the nearby Veliki Konj. Descent to Zadnjica to the parking lot, then shortcut past the limekiln (even without the shortcut it's not too far) to Na Logu village, where you treat your soul in the pub next to the TNP museum, you can also eat something. The driver or driver jumps for the car, max quarter hour. nasmeh

P.S. first time
On descent I recommend detour to Belopotoški waterfall (Pinja), under which there is a nice pool in which you can swim pleasantly cool

P.S. second time
the trip is also suitable for dog souls, mine enjoyed mežikanje Up through Trebiški, down to Zadnjica.

We usually leave the vehicle at Na Log in front of the TNP building. There's a small path to the right to avoid the gravel road that goes from the barrier onwards. It shortens it a bit. A TNP ranger told us about this path years ago when we chatted in the morning and he asked where we were going.

Thank you very much for such a quick and detailed response! I hope that this tour will come true for us someday, of course with our dog companions and appropriate fitness. Refreshment in the water is of course welcome in summer.
I no longer count on being alone on some "remote unknown" summit, it has happened to us several times that we met foreign hikers on such paths and summits, Germans for example really discover everything. nasmeh
