On Friday I was on Viševnik (Rudno polje direction) and a bit around. Viševnik is fully dry. The path is partially wet from melting snow. I also checked the path to Mali Draški vrh. It can be reached without problems. One snow patch needs to be crossed, but it causes no issues.

Does anyone know the name of the path under Mali Draški vrh (pics 4,5,6).

That path goes to Studorski preval. Or if you branch off it to the right at the pass between MDV and VDV, you get to VDV. If the path has a name, I don't know.

We decided after work to dash to Viševnik, to check if Triglav and surrounding peaks are ok. We went yesterday, 10.6, the path is super, in the afternoon you walk mostly in the shade, which was quite pleasant given the temperatures outside, the ridge path passed extremely quickly. The views were as they should be, the path skirts one lone snow patch, whose mention could be skipped. In short, a pleasant quick afternoon hike. I was surprised how loudly the sound of melting ice and snow can be heard on the Viševnik summit. Like a stream running next to me!velik nasmeh

LP and safe steps,

Today I knew it would be a battle with time. At home it showed 37.5 degrees, by the time I reached Rudno p. it was already 20 degrees and about to pour. I pushed hard on the path to make it to the summit. In the 40 minutes I was going up, it was sleeting, then sunny, and I hoped to make the summit. Suddenly there was such thunder towards Ablanca that I didn't think twice and bolted down immediately.

Viševnik is a small hop for many,
for us it's just the right height.
From the top the pastures below are nicely visible,
we quickly awakened memories on Žgance.
Roses adorn this mountain balcony,
from which we gave a tribute to Daddy today.nasmehmežikanje

Yesterday from the barracks via planina Jezerce and Srenjski preval up and down through meadows and across the ski slope.

On the scree below Srenjski preval there's still quite some snow, one crossing needed (ca. 50m), but snow is soft, slope not too steep (with exit to scree), so crampons not needed. Elsewhere the path is completely dry.

Go yourself. Path is dry, no prob. That one over snake ditch is still snowy though. But about this it's (was and still) written intensively on the portal. Winter was harsh so snow will stay long on shady spots!

Ben

Yesterday I climbed Viševnik on the usual path, descended the same path to the saddle between Plesišče and Viševnik, then continued right on the unmarked path over Golo Ravan. The mentioned path lower reaches the marked path Rudno polje - Triglav. From the place where I reached the marked path, I made a short extension to planina Konjščica, from there back to Rudno polje.
Regards, Tadej

In the morning after a rough night, a beautiful winter day formed and it had to be used.
Initially I planned Veliki vrh, but postponed it later due to the feel of the snow and its fully southern position.
Anyway, I had to test the old winter tires to see if they were still usable, so the snowy Pokljuka was perfect for that.
At the sight of Rudno polje, I marvel at nature's extreme turnaround. A little back to summer, now directly into winter.
The parking lot was empty, likewise on the tour I met no living soul, only a starved mountain Kavka at the top. Everything there was snowed in, even Uskovnica. Snow fallen below around 5cm, a bit higher already 10-12cm. In drifts somewhere 15-25, even 30cm. On higher peaks, wall and ridge snow is quite blown away, in hollows and plateaus the most. Down the snow was dry with a bottom crust at the ground, later it melted quickly and was dry only above 2000m and in shade to 1400m. The afternoon snow with mud below is now extremely slippery on grasses, slip risk is considerable. In coming days more ice can be expected, mainly on southern exposures. On the north in heights it will remain dry. I didn't need crampons going up, but down I practiced walking with them a bit. Wind today on the tour surprisingly almost none (only isolated gusts to 35km/h), or at this height no, but at Kredarica it was smoking with snow curtains.
Nature with the front arranged only normal temperatures for this season and that's right. Lpnasmeh
