Slovenian Mountain Trail

I was on Mangrt for the first time in 2000. I remember when we drove over Predel and turned onto the road to Mangrtsko sedlo, there was a sign below with MangArt. I noticed that the 2nd letter A was covered with black tape. They explained to my question what it means, like @MANGRT above. With the words "probably a local fixed it as it should be, Slovenian name". Since then Mangrt for me, locals always right nasmeh

@pikicapikica and others, thanks for the explanation. Otherwise I know many people from this area, but no one has explained this to me yet... probably because Mangrt sounds much more natural when pronounced than Mangart... even for those who write/mo (or have until now) with A, so the mistake remained unnoticed.

And yes, locals always right. I usually just blow up when someone mispronounces Štanjel nasmeh

For me it will be Mangrt forever. Otherwise markacists make sure we all find the path to it if we want. Those who write it without the second letter A or those who write it mežikanje
Both name variants so no one says where to go now1

In spring I'll visit Prekmurje, and I'm curious where the stamps of the extended Slovenian Mountain Trail are for control points: Gomila in Slovenske Gorice (?), Jeruzalem (supposedly in guesthouse Jeruzalem), Selo in Prekmurje(?) and Zavrh in Slovenske Gorice (supposedly in Bife Maistrova klet). Thanks for tips and info!!!

You have route descriptions and thus stamp locations on this portal under the list "Pohorje and other northeastern Slovenia". Browse.mežikanje

Selo - at TIC by Rotunda (wooden house in pic)
http://kraji.eu/slovenija/romanska_rotunda_selo_v_prekmurju/IMG_6360_romanska_rotunda_selo_prekmurje_pot_od_tic/slo

Jeruzalem - TIC

Zavrh - as written here:
http://www.hribi.net/gora/zavrh_v_slovenskih_goricah/4/1401

I'd call TIC Jeruzalem and Selo first, seems outside hours the stamp is outside, for Zavrh I guarantee it's at the described house (was in 2012).
Gomila though not in my booklet from 2007.

Hope it helps.

In Gomila they have TD, I'd call there and ask.

And also: Browse - easiest to write. But I'm such that if someone asks for advice, I gladly give it, as from own experience I know not everyone is at home on the web, plus some descriptions are outdated or don't exist (Gomila e.g.). Next time someone will help me if I don't find my way, or already have, thanks.

Thanks marinka67, both for links and "support". I asked mainly if someone recently visited these parts and "checked" if stamps are really at described places. Thanks again!!!

The stamp for Gomila is in the cache box at the viewpoint tower. I was there two weeks ago.

Hi!
Next week we are planning the first part of the Slovenian trail from Maribor to Kamniško sedlo. What is the difficulty of this trail? Especially the part from Raduha to Korosica, and then on to the Saddle...

Nothing special. Demanding mountain trail of course, requires some caution, nothing too difficult though.

No serious technical difficulties on this part anywhere really. More need to consider as a factor (if I got it right you're doing it in one go?) the length of the trail, which is quite a few days of walking.
Oh, and across Pohorje, especially between Klopni vrh and Pesek, it's a bit poorly marked in places.

maybe towards Srebrno sedlo and then descent from Sukalnik towards Kamniško sedlo. There are some secured sections of the trail there.
Katarina, will you manage this in one week?

thanks for the replies.
yes, 6 days on the trail, one day for recovery, then back to work. but we realized we planned this too optimistically, so we'll probably finish in Robanov kot. and we're not too used to snow in the mountains either, so we'll leave the high mountains for another time when there's no more snow...

Looking at those old logbooks on page 7, I see that Okrešelj was mostly an SPP point, only in the period 1993-2003 it wasn't. Does anyone know what the reason for this change was?

@NYG no idea. I just know that they supposedly removed Tursko gora because of Kotličev.

Another piece of news. The stamp at Tinjan is no longer at the old spot. It's located at the church of St. Michael.

Best, Nino
Church of St. Michael - on the right side of the stairs is the stamp1

I'm wondering how it is today with the stamp of the Slovenian Mountain Museum for SPP?
