IT'S OVER!!! 23.05.2010 I finished Slovenian Mountain Trail. On this occasion I thank everyone on the forum who helped me with various data (sometimes even encouraged me) to do this trail. Thanks also to occasional companions on the trail (Gift, Perica and P.D. Hakl). The trail counts, not the goal.

Hello all mountain lovers.

I suggest that on Hribi.net page a bit more emphasis be given to SLOVENIAN MOUNTAIN TRAIL.

I suggest to Mark paths and peaks that make up:
SLOVENIAN MOUNTAIN TRAIL FROM MARIBOR TO ANKARAN and EXTENDED SLOVENIAN MOUNTAIN TRAIL.

This is just a suggestion.

Now as many suggestions as possible... nasmeh

regards

Yes, Eugen, I'm thinking of repeating it next year but this time in stages (10*4 days). I would be glad for some new companion who is close to nature and despises materialism and consumerism.

Is anyone interested in doing SPP together? Is there any society that does SPP? I plan to hike a large part of the trail on weekends and so it's good to have transport at the start and end of the trail. Public transport is so-so?? How did you tackle Pohorje, Trnovski gozd, Primorska?

Andrej, we can arrange it, no problem. I will start it again probably in spring. It suits me also because transport costs get shared a bit. Mainly it depends on which part of Slo. you come from.

Yes, up at the start, one or two days walking and down at the other end. And transport at both places. So it won't be much cheaper. But more practical. I've already done some, for summer the Julians remain. Now doing lower hills extended transversals. As soon as possible I'll do the trail on Pohorje.

If anyone is interested in things around stages, I have some written on http://pd.paloma.si/ in snapshots 2004, when we with colleagues hiked the entire trail in one year.
And nice greeting and lots of pleasures!

Oh Felix, I see that quite a few of us "messed around" with the transversal in the Šentilj municipality.

Hi... I'm interested in the trail on the Slovenian transversal or it interests me if someone organizes or if I could join some group that would go for several days on these paths... thanks for answers.

I haven't seen it anywhere: how and where to get the Litija stamp (geo-center SLO)?

SPT from before 1991 is still great! Instead of trimming it and softening its name, it would be better to upgrade it with additional extension.
The goal is of course not just "conquering" peaks, but getting to know the homeland.

The trimming of points happened in a time of greater mobility and accessibility to starting points, where in the past we had to take the bus first and then walk a considerable chunk.

What the basic SPT (without extended points) had:
Valvasor Hut, Pristava in Javornik Rovt, Hut under Golica, unreasonably merged into the optional Kredarica stamp, Planika and Dolič and Bogatin/Komna, further missing: Zlatorog Hut in Trenta (or replace with museum), Pl. hut Rudar (Vojsko), Predjama Castle, Holy Trinity, Skocjan Caves.

Nice that they added Pl. hut at Krn Lakes, Ermanovec, Bevkov vrh, Sinji vrh.

Well, the extended one trimmed even more.

Besides greater accessibility of starting points, the extension requires greater physical fitness of most hikers, their gear and ultimately the "gear" of the path. And if we add the need for active spending not only of free time but also of vacations (instead of lying on beaches) and spending money abroad, then the answer is obvious .....

Softened name? Slovenian language is then a soft language by your opinion. Thanks.

Many a piece of homeland probably never see if not do Slo.pl. that's why I recommend it: to patriots, nature lovers, people who like to move, people who don't know where to go, etc. For Slo.pl. path (transversal) no need to be, I don't know what kind of mountaineer, but need to be persistent and leave home when the path calls and not find excuses why not to go, then go and I continued with Koroška pl. path, Šentiljska pl. path, Pomurska pl. path, Extended Slo.pl. path (no for it I still need weekend to Trstelj) and then Haloška etc. Of course I don't walk only these paths, I go elsewhere too, just that it's nice, stamps and booklets of course not the most important, sometimes they motivated me to go where I otherwise never would. The path counts.

joža x, Šentiljska is my annual must for 8 February, no matter the weather (2010 snowed in the night to 8 Feb, last year I did part even in shorts). A colorful company gathers and we do it in one swoop. Some faster, some slower.

Šentiljska is for me a home thing and I walk it here and there, so some parts I walked many times, the whole last year in 3 afternoons, but to do it in 1 day, sure no problem, but need to step diligently.
