Hello. Does anyone know path conditions from Gornji Grad? Heard ice storm did lots of damage there, wonder if path is nicely passable or need to bash through blowdown field?

Petruša, that won't hold. The church on your picture is St. Florian above Gornji Grad and you couldn't take picture no. 16 from there No hard feelings!

Even stranger is how that lady Polona Mikuš from the Argeta ad ended up on Menina...

The church is 100% St. Florian's, locally in Semprimoz. I've been there at least 100 times. True though, it's a minute off the path to Menina and easy to miss. I can confirm that with the new hut keepers on Menina nothing has changed at all Gypsy goulash that'll knock you down! Dough mice, apple pie and I don't know what else was available when I was up there recently. I have nothing to do with the keepers but still say: "Come on folks". Really nice pasture and amazing views. No wonder they wanted to build a radar up there ... and thank God they didn't. Unlike Velika Planina you can hike half a day and barely meet anyone.

Pohodnik and Geppo are right, photo taken at the nicest rest spot by the Panoramic road with view into Matkov Basin, 500 m before Klemenška homestead! Don't make up legends, youngsters , no offense and many nice hikes

What are the conditions (snow) on Menina Pasture currently (end of October 2014)? Which trail is most suitable for a family outing?

On 30 October my wife and I enjoyed the autumn splendour of Menina Pasture. Whatever snow fell is gone now. The hut is open only on weekends now. All trails are suitable for family outings.

For today's visit to Menina planina really warm clothes were needed. I parked in Gornji Grad and climbed past Semprimožnik to the top. Snow is blown to the ground in places, small drifts elsewhere. The trail is broken. Lp

Today's Sunday morning used for visit to Menina. Started from bus Gg, past Semprimožnik to hut (cca. 2:40min). Snow starts above 1000m - few cm. Windy in open creating drifts. Cosy warm in hut, friendly staff. Return via Borovnica (cca. 1:30min). Relaxed walk for hanging out and fitness.. lp
