Hello. On Sunday I might go to Kum: http://www.hribi.net/izlet/zidani_most_kum_cez_skratovo_dolino/25/192/2247 Now some snow has fallen and more will. Saturday clear but quite cold. Sunday cloudy and somewhat less cold but still. Sunday start latest at 8am from Zidani most. What trail can I expect especially in initial part? Mud if go early? Probably not due low temps, on return...? Trail probably well trodden by Sunday even if more snow falls now? Thanks for info.

Don't mind if a bit muddy.. shoes can be cleaned... Not Kum expert, but I'd say trail almost always trodden..

Yesterday on Kum, started up from Sopota via Nežina trail. Along the trail quite a few broken branches and here and there a fallen tree. Trail muddy in places, last part from Podkum up mostly 15 cm southern snow. Summit dry. View nice, warm too, light breeze blowing.

Again on Kum. Trail completely dry and bare, bit of mud only where tree was felled, already sawn. Summit warm and sunny, view poor, lots of thermals in air. Also jumped to Svibno other side of Sopota. Recommend to anyone going to Sopota valley.

Ascent to Zasavje first(man)-Kum from Hrastnik and descent to Zagorje ob Savi. Less used combo, not yet presented here, which I connected fully, ascent from Hrastnik descent to Zagorje. Expected even a bit more demanding trail - regarding gaining and losing height...Lonely paths except between Završje via Čebulova valley to Kum where I met some walkers who parked ,,car,, of course as high as possible!? . Trail to/from Zagorje after turnoff to Trbovlje still more trodden than expected, as net doesn't recognize it much except official PD Kum/path from Zagorje. Nice temp, trails dry, early hour and soon after 10 at ŽP in Zagorje though didn't hurry as first time and interested in path structure and surroundings. After correction 17.47 km as signal weak at times. Would be nice if some quality path describer enters these two paths to official list. Kum is just landmark that deserves it and important mining places Hrastnik and Zagorje. Track:Kum/Hrastnik - Zagorje, 18.08.2013.Yeah nice these tours with bit ,,ironpioneer,, touch for easier connection...Lp

Trail from Mali Kum nicely groomed, before last chapel at saddle some 100m mud and wet snow, summit dry. Weather wonderful, just visibility somewhat poorer.

What is the condition of the cable car across the Sava at Zidani most? Is the marked path to Nebeška gora also from this side?

I started at the OMV gas station on the road between Zagorje and Trbovlje and then on the well-marked (sign already at OMV) and steep path to the village Završje. From the village onwards snow (a little) and so through the entire Čebulova dolina all the way to the top. The summit offered nice views, lots of blue sky and very strong wind that spiced up the ascent. The hut on Kum is being renovated inside, but everything is available. It was a day that would be a shame to spend in the valley.

Today to Kum on my usual route. From Radeče to Zagrad and to Vetrni vrh where I park. Then on foot over Sitni kal past the chapel across the meadow, past the farms towards the summit. Enough snow, good track, weather simply wonderful.

Today again to Kum. Ascent on the same path as last time. Nice sunny day, best tea, the hut keeper very busy since winter up here isn't over yet. Descent towards Podkum, good track, about a third of the way turn left past the very nice Dolškova farm, over snowy meadows into the forest and down back to Vetrni vrh to the car and home. Nice loop trail.

Due to obligations and thus too little time to drive elsewhere, I head out quite late to my favorite summit KUM. Start from "the bottom" in Zagrad and do the tour as per previous description. I discover another crazy beautiful hunting trail that saves me some asphalt but is more vertical. At twelve the hut on Kum is full, staff rushing with lunch service, I treat myself to their apple strudel and tea. View today wonderful, Julijci and Kamniške visible and everything around. Not much snow, but all trampled. In one hour at the car, behind me 900m elevation and a great part of the day.

900m descent in one hour? Congratulations Who can catch up with you? For the ascent better not to ask, I assume an hour and a quarter , that's how much I spent today on 800m descent. Nice regards and safe travels
