In Turnišče, they don't have factory sales, you can't buy anything. You can buy hiking shoes only at sales points. Wait for a discount at Pekot and they will also fix them for you. Planika shoes are the best!

I also decided for Planika this spring. They are really excellent. For foreign brands and for Alpina I wouldn't give comments. I've had all possible. L.P.

I've always been satisfied with alpina shoes, don't know the exact model though, price was 155€ but they have sales every year up to 35% discount and you can get them quite affordably.

Have they already canceled this action today? Just checking online - yesterday there were still lower prices, today no more?

The action still applies. They had some issues on the website, it's fixed.

Because some gojzarji wore out on me quite quickly, I took them to Alpina Žiri for repair. I'll see how they repair them, new ones are already at home Tibet V, on repair are Tibet.

Alpina TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED me. End of August I bought Alpina Trinity, full of some new technologies, but I wasn't paying attention that the part for tightening laces is plastic. When I first (!) went hiking in them this plastic hook broke, I walked 2 hours on rocks with half unlaced shoe! I returned them to the store, asked for money back, they said they would put metal buckles instead of that plastic on both shoes. Today they returned them to me, again they put plastic which will most likely break again! And they wanted to charge me 24 cents for the bag! Of course I carried the shoes home in hands. Totally miserable customer service. And such quality if it breaks at the third lacing. I advise against buying, really.

I wouldn't exactly say that Alpina is totally fine; once Alpina had good boots, they lasted 20 years without a problem, but today it seems to me that they drop a rank every few years, of course to worse, even those -50% deals remind me of clearing out worse stuff. The problem is that I can hardly wear other than leather boots, so I'm looking for an alternative. Still, -50% new ones are around 80 euros and you can't get them elsewhere for that money , so somehow I'm still sticking with Alpina. Now they have the new model Tibet V. Something still bothers me though; it says Vibram sole but it wears out relatively quickly, it says they are resistant and breathable but they still leak even when greased. As for the sole/profile in wet, it slips quite a bit; we'll see, now the Tibet V has a different profile. Damn*, even local flip-flops for 10 euros are better

Cheap stuff is no longer worth buying at all, from tools onwards to sports gear. Globalization of production has run us over, where they started making products just a bit cheaper, quality not a bit worse but worthless for the money paid .

To me, Alpina boots seem worth their money (they always have those -50% sales anyway). True they can't quite compare to top brands, but those brands charge 2x more too.

LG, sure they lasted 20 years if you used them just 2 times yearly. Rubber and thus sole ages no matter the brand and after 5 years practically loses all properties. With use 2 times weekly (few hours) anyway need to change at least the sole, if not the whole boot after two seasons.

Years ago Alpina shoes really were very good and tough, today quality of these boots has dropped a lot. For a few years I wore Lowa shoes which were quite tough. Now for about 10 years I've been buying Meindl shoes for high mountains and I'm super satisfied. The shoes are not snik-snak colored, but super functional and wear very well in any weather. Price is over 200 Euros depending on model, but the investment pays off

Planika is almost Meindl. In Turnišče they sew for them, they supply them material for Planika brand production as part of payment.

On almost all mountaineering trips Alpina shoes were with me. I bought the first ones with my first paycheck, and they safely carried me on hills for around 23 years. But when holes appeared on the big toe, I had to put them aside. Friends already joked that I should claim them. During that time I only changed Vibram soles twice. Vibram was really something else back then than today. Now I still buy Alpina, but have to admit soles wear out in two years and you have to change shoes or at least the rubber. This year on some I changed soles, bought new ones too - of course Alpina.

Yeah, Vibram today with some brands is such that it slips on dry rock.

I myself own three Alpina boots: Tundra-solid boot, I use it for easier hikes and everyday winter use. Peak- pretty good winter boot. After a few months the rubber came off both boots They repaired it in three days. Three months have passed since. So far it's holding. Lhotse- at least for me total wrong purchase. The boot slips so much it's dangerous on wet. Poor ankle grip. In summer during sale I got La Sportiva Trango alp gtx.. Only opinion I have is: excellent!!!!!
