Rifugio Gilberti

Description of mountain hut:
The Gilberti Alpine Hut is located on the northern Italian side of Kanin, between Belo Pèja and Hudi Vršič. From the hut or its immediate surroundings, you have a beautiful view of the two peaks already mentioned, Prestreljenik and its window, Lopa, and of the Jôf di Montasio group of mountains. Near the hut is also the top station of the Sella Nevea (Nevea Pass) ski lift, which shortens the access to the hut (it takes only 5 minutes from the lift to the hut). Between the lift and the hut, you can see the mountain chapel, next to which lies an old military cannon.
