Žakelj's bivouac on "Stebrasta skala" Mežakla

Everything said!

I really like this kind of thinking, that there are quite a few exemplary calves, grown at least to the years of young cattle (proud of their origin)...And that's right! Bravo guys!

That's why we don't understand each other. We're not all from the same ...meat.
No problem.

viharnik, doesn't it seem to you that what you wrote is like worshipping ministries and the like federation, in the sense that they are the only "from God" competent to decide where a bivouac should stand and what it should look like.
Are the "authorities" really "from God" for you??
In many things they appear in the light as if they were from the devil. Think! Don't burden yourself with your taste and fearful respect of apparent authority that wants nothing good or useful for anyone else but itself.. Authority today is primarily a company whose profit depends on payments of various fines from the pockets of those who daily work with calloused hands for daily bread. If we agreed today not to make any mistake, the government would die of hunger within a month.. Those guys just don't know how to survive with their own hands. And they rejoice at comments like the one you gave..
But I know you're a person who has quite a bit more in heart and head than all those lazy asses living off my and your account.

Heinz, regarding our government and its minions you are partly right. Completely wrong though you support something that is not in accordance with the laws of the wider Triglav National Park. In Slovenia we have about 3500 serious hikers-mountaineers who regularly go to the mountains. Imagine if just 10% of them built vacation huts in the Julians each for themselves, what it would look like. I myself would get a nice log cabin, say in Fužinarske planine or Lepa Komna, but that's not possible because of the inviolability of nature and the protection regime. I don't know how you look at these issues around Jesenice. Upper Carniola in general, except the mountains, quite surprises me with eternal stubbornness, rudeness, advocating one's own right, narrow-mindedness, which is seen in the unequal imposed regime of collecting fees in the valleys (everyone already their own kulak on the land), fines (Bohinj) etc. The most normal end and energetically acceptable to me seems Bled with surroundings and Gozd Martuljek. Tolerance and respect, especially for diversity, is very little compared to Karst, Styria, Prekmurje. Unfortunately there are still big differences here and thus also the quality of living.

About tolerance towards someone who is not "everyone" I'm talking all the time.
What if it were..? Is it?
I'm not the only one in Slovenia, - not just in Upper Carniola, who is convinced that Žakelj is a person without equal. He is simply a mountain human being, which we two have never been and cannot be. Nor anyone on this forum. We can't even imagine living in Žakelj's style. But he doesn't want to live like us. He doesn't philosophize like we do, he simply merges into the surroundings that mean the most to him, much more than to us.
I owe you a few more details, regardless of whether you'll consider me even more stubborn and narrow-minded than you already do; namely, the bivouac in question is no vacation house, log cabin etc. and it doesn't stand in the TNP area.
About collecting fees, I think quite a bit has already been said on this portal. Who among us even supports such squeezings?
Best regards h!

heinz, more than 90% of Slovenian territory is not included in TNP or other parks, yet objects cannot just be erected haphazardly.
You want to exclude this person from the rules that apply to everyone and justify him in every way. But he has excluded himself from society of his own free will, that's his right, but rules still apply to everyone.
So what prevents me or others from building our own bivouac? Your "assessment" of appropriateness, as you awarded it to him in this case, that we submit to the municipality?
I also don't understand why some persistently push to visit him, if he wanted to distance himself from people. So you yourselves do not respect his decision!?jezen

Sometimes we have to be accepting also of ideas and views that go beyond borders. Even Aljaž Tower was built without proper permission (they sued for years on that topic), even its artistic solution is quite poor (mildly said it's ugly)...
I don't say that Žakelj's weekend can be compared to Aljaž Tower. But we can tolerate it and let time show its own.
Such construction feats would be problematic if there were more. But men who would do something like that are not many and in reality they represent pure exceptions.

Personally, crosses on peaks bother me much more in the mountains. They are like big advertisements. All in a row are erected without proper permission, have dubious artistic value and it is quite possible that they disturb the spirit of the mountain(?).
But as I said, we have to be tolerant towards each other.

Žan, I actually agree with your post.
Mostly we lack a bit of tolerance, some have too much of it (in some cases), and there's conflict.

I suggest to the administrator that when discussions start developing in this direction like this topic, simply lock it, you've used four pages just to insult each other.
I suggest you meet somewhere, say on some forest clearing (back to nature...), grab your own club each and hit each other..., with written word obviously you don't get anywhere, maybe with batons...

'I suggest you meet somewhere, say on some forest clearing (back to nature...), grab your own club each and hit each other...'
... do you have the feeling that you wrote something smart? How much intolerance still sounds in your post.
Best regards!

Even intolerance has to burst out somewhere. It's better if it spills out in one forum than in real life. So there's no need to lock the thread.
In weather like today, we can't expect anything sensible...
Let everyone write what they think.

...A bit for a change, to the other side of Jesenice, to Žakelj's bivouac. The path really isn't long, but quite steep. And I'm thinking how much will and energy Lojz must have had almost at 50 to drag it all up. You have enough to do just with yourself, especially if the terrain is wet, as today. What a shame, it soon started drizzling and I had to leave the super viewpoint due to wet rocks. Next timenasmeh

...Going to check on the local at SS before more snow falls. Again something new. Our Lojz is full of ideas. He made some kind of bench you can also sleep on. Already small space, yet you can still enter and walk in the bivouac. Hard to imagine he drives down to work before six a.m. in total darkness. I, just before eight, watch my steps climbing up. Path full of leaves and frozen snow, a bit nasty, need to be careful. Small crampons come in handy. Careful on the rock to the bivouac too. Jesenice in light snow look very nice and peaks above them too. Ira waited below the rock, singing her aria the whole time and reminding me that she was waiting for menasmeh

Just to add, it's made for all hikers who can use the bivouac anytime. The builder lives in an apartment block in Slovenski Javornik, not in the bivouac as some might think. The bivouac at Stebrasta skala is not a weekend cottage or anyone's nest, but just a small shelter for any visitor.
