Yes Enka agree with you. At opening they boasted: parking 1€/hour, and with receipt tea up there half cheaper and.... I've parked my way long ago (eventually find secret spots too). Aja, tea also hiked and now pricier (2dcl) than Kredarica. Per recommended on Kredarica 1€, Smarna 1.2€.

LPP for 1.20€ , by bike free. If tea too expensive, thermos along. And if all still too pricey, lounging home on couch costs nothing

Tea on Kredarica 1€; bla bla bla. And many other places too. Just pious wishes of PZS, most hut keepers still cling happily to old (higher) prices like drunk to fence.
Šmarnagora Miha raised tea price mocking all, so I owe him some change.

Turbo, because to Šmarna I usually also drive two kids and one dog, neither bus nor bike is a good choice. Although...just with the latter I threatened the kids last time in holy anger...but what, when such furry "kid" then raises its head .

When I head to Šmarna, I always park at the parking lot by Tacen Bridge.
The parking lot is small and always full, but due to the high frequency of visitors, you don't have to wait long for an empty spot.

I always park at the police academy. First, it's an excellent starting point for circular hikes, second, there's always lots of space (at least afternoons and weekends). I don't get it, whether people don't know about it, or if it's too much for them to walk the extra 3 minutes (yes, only three) to Šmarna Gora.

But is parking allowed there? Because the police is surely incredibly close!
Otherwise, I don't know why every time I drive by there, that cop from the same-named American movie or series comes to mind.

For the parking lot in front of the police academy, it was written last year that they would try to arrange to allow parking when there's space (especially on weekends). I haven't followed if anything came of that agreement. Because, as VanSims says, the police is dangerously (too) close there  .

The official parking place for Šmarna Gora visitors is behind the former disco Lipa, the one at the police academy was meant for the police school, but it's always empty. In my feeling, it's a public parking lot (no signs allowed for police academy anywhere). The sign just warns visitors that parking is at own risk, maybe because of that, as Enka says, the police is dangerously (too) close there.

The fear is of the police, that one "accidentally" parks next to them, but interestingly, no fear of police when sidewalks, lawns and private yards are parked on. Who would stand up for...

This morning I dashed up Šmarna Gora via the climbing path over Grmada and back to the car. Since I had just enough time left before work, I drove to Tacen and went up once more via Kuhinja. There was quite a lot of visitors and lots of small kids from kindergarten (hats off to them). On that side I met only a couple of hikers. As Viharnik already mentioned, it was pretty warm here on the other side of the Sava too.

Late afternoon I head out to check after a longer time on Šmarna Gora.
Up I go direct via Kuhinja, where there are still some ice patches and especially thin mud. A bit higher fog joined, which by the saddle already lessened. At the Christian signs despite pre-Christmas time my thoughts link to barbaric, inhuman massacre of completely innocent small kids. How many in the world in wars even such that never reached even our known media, destroyed, forgotten, all that mostly due to greed of superpowers for earthly riches. Back to the valley in dark and fog with headlamp.

why low shoes? Conditions on path excellent and more than flipflops you really don't need. Oh, you always complicate like that?
