Matkove paths are now well visible mainly because of widening a few years ago. Hunters supposedly cut junipers along paths. And probably someone else chainsawed here and there. 
Otherwise the lower path to Matkova kornica is the most trodden.
Andrej, I agree. Is it really necessary at the slightest snowfall to swarm certain points? And then get upset because parking fee is too high. Aren't we looking for something completely different in the mountains?

The only good side of this rush to certain "divine" paths is that I discovered former and now less crowded paths and peaks that still offer what I'm looking for in the mountain world.

Look, I have no problem paying those 12€ or whatever it is now (15€?). You are debating for a few pages whether the parking fee is right or not, but I'm only interested why this road is closed all winter at all? And don't tell me because of ice on the last 2 turns... As I wrote a few pages back, in winter 2019 I was several times by car to the top parking without problem. Given this year's poor winter, I conclude we could hike up all March already.

Relevant thinking. The fact is that the area of Fužinske planine and surrounding hills (Debeli vrh, Ogradi, Slatna, Kreda etc.) is very suitable also for winter mountaineering. But of course, if you have to walk on foot all the way from the bottom, the attractiveness decreases considerably. In reality I think people would go up there quite massively even in winter and something could be gained from it. The question is whether Bohinj people want that at all.

Bohinj fleecing of two tourists on a nice spring day .
-parking in Stara Fužina 12eu
-entrance to Korita gratis - during season 3eu
-on return at tic St.Fužina we kindly point out that one bridge in Korita has no railing, receptionist yells at us what kind of Lj... we are if we don't see on internet that Korita are closed
-drink at Voje hut really moderate 8eu and friendly keeper
-driving towards Vogel, friendly warden parks us and says no pay at gondola.
-round trip gondola 52eu
-Vogel quite deserted, skiers enjoying, hotel decaying, Brunarica for sale, views to shout about, that's for sure.
-short snack at Merjascu 30eu
-walk and photo shooting gratis
-on return RADAR hotel Jezero 40/2 20eu speeding whole 36km/h
-lunch for nothing special 62eu
-in general wouldn't talk about great friendliness of hospitality staff, but exceptions exist
-together we let ourselves be fleeced for 184eu, somewhere more, somewhere less, never cheaper.
Despite all-day fleecing we had a good time and maybe repeat such trip sometime.

Robert, correct comment, just add that Fužina is written with capital. Well that's the smallest problem; the joke is that toll to Voje/Blato is cheaper than multi-hour parking fee before barrier, so many swimmers pretend to go to Blato, actually go to coast, leave car few meters behind it. Wardens wring hands, affected complain, municipality raised toll to Blato to 15€ this year... Hope you return sometime within speed limits to these nice parts self-catered with food, go up/down to Vogel on foot via Žagarjev graben and save, if I calculated right, 164€.

If you go across the border, you're all quiet and comment nothing.

jprim, don't speak generally. More than Blato I paid only P at Auronzo, elsewhere in I and A substantially less. Last P under Zirbitzkogel 2 eur. I think no one on this forum is against paying some reasonable amount, but not for usurious toll.

Abroad we pay cog railways, gondolas, tolls, and not little.
Bojan, I believe you can find spots where you pay nothing. Especially in Italy, where they don't complicate too much. Also here you can find some.

That asphalt to pl.Blato must have been quite expensive, 1m2 without base is probably a bit over 20 euros with base 30-40 euros. It will probably pay off in a few more years. From the last junction about 1500m2 new asphalt, some 4000 cars at 12 euros to pay it off.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has been to pl. Blato and onwards to Krstenica, Lazu, Dedno polje... is it normally passable yet or is there still snow on the path.
