Last year May and November were very rainy, visits to the mountains were very few. If it rains in July and August this year, there won't be crowds. On top of everything, the virus will sharply cut foreign visits, both in Logar Valley and on Triglav and elsewhere. As cruel as it sounds, nature knows how to take care of itself

Said - done. This morning I also head up. At the road junction I go check on the Logarska barrier. Until 1.7. the ranger can sleep till nine, after that date he'll be on duty already at seven. Confused me the info on the ad board that the funnel is at 1200m. Sloppiness on point. Today I park in the bend at the top of the slope too, then road to the hunting hut, less than a km along dry streambed, then right to the trail. Snow wasn't frozen, so doable without crampons, every year notice fresh avalanche scars. Visitors all kinds, in sneakers, with crampons, no backpack and --very irresponsible, most without helmet. Stone projectiles fly at high speed, must avoid at least the lower edge of the funnel.
Had young Dušan as companion, who had to check what scree is at the bottom. Since that wasn't enough, he 'jumped' to Latvice too...

I think yes, Martina. Right before the car. I think few people realize the dangers, there are three here. The smallest is regarding the access slope due to slip, if icy, someone can fall into the funnel too if not skilled with crampons and walking the edge, the biggest danger is of course the stone that flies at high speed and if larger, helmet isn't enough. That's why standing on the lower (outer) edge of the funnel is most dangerous. Four of us yesterday witnessed one such big launcher.
@garmont, whole way back I checked the surroundings, even at standard spots didn't find any little shoe.

Actually there's a marked parking at the main road to Pavličevo sedlo. There's also a signpost saying “Matkov funnel…2.5 hrs.”
But most drive on into Matkov valley and park at end of asphalt, or a bit further on gravel at first right bend.
