When you drive past the power plant (on the left you'll notice the water intake channel) you still have a few hundred meters. There's a gravel area for a few cars, in front of you opens the view into M. valley. Then straight on. On the right meadows, on the left flows Jezera.

Went to check how it is with the pretty little shoes in Matkov valley. They are there... nasmeh

And the funnel is still there too. velik nasmeh

On the right side there are more chamois.

She looked back once more and went down to the valley.

Yesterday I took the better half to see Matkov Shaft, as she hadn't seen it live yet. Morning parking lot half full, obviously this year's shaft attraction promises including longer approach snowfield than usual. Path without features with crampons, for those without let each judge themselves. Both thrilled, as this was our first tour this year in Kamniks. Already planning the next. nasmeh

We also checked out the shaft yesterday, it goes without crampons without a problem, downhill even better when sliding a bit on your feet, a bit on that rear one. We also saw the Beautiful Shoes - first time in life.

Well we did meet, Zoran. And without any arrangements or schedules. I wouldn't manage your tours even by chance, but it pulled me, like almost every year towards the 'shaft'. Convinced that due to relatively small amount of snowfalls and warm March the shaft will already be in part, this is just the beginning. Up top it was gushing strongly, but the depression is only half a meter deep. Rope (for measuring) stayed dry, but I got soaked more. Think first check makes sense only in about two weeks, due to falling stone projectiles warmly recommend helmet. Also the last steep bit was icy in the morning, I used a few days old footsteps, so didn't put on crampons.
As always some pics of the wonderful day follow.

Bukovje still bare, extremely little snow.

Already from below the suspicion that there's nothing yet with the škaf (left part convex, instead of concave).

Last year even 6 weeks later there was about 5 m thick snow under the waterfall here.

Besides the škaf, another attraction of these parts - Okno.

Despite sparse snowfalls, quite a lot has piled up.

In recent years under the wall always with a helmet, especially at the edge of the hole...

Nicely used day!
Photo 9 shows Veliki vrh above Matkov kot 1539m, Koran 1567m is second in line on the ridge section from Veliki vrh towards Savinjek. Before it is Zgornji Pavličev Kogel 1459m.

With Dragot on June 1st two years ago we combed all those mentioned peaks, but need to do them again to stick in head. I assessed only by direction and height based on known Olševa and shaft data, peak shape unknown to me.

Tone, the shaft is there already. A lady friend was there yesterday. It's about 10m, roughly estimated.

Today I went to check the depth of Škaf.
Since I was early, I went up through the valley between boulders, where it's quite hot later. Interestingly, you reach cca 50 elevation meters below the summit on the summer path, suggesting less snow this year. Anyway, I still put on crampons for the ascent to the top and of course for walking the edge when measuring depth.
So, it's 8 meters deep... mežikanje

and didn't disappoint. nasmeh
