Charlie with his assistant measured the shaft depth quite right. I was with him on Saturday and warn future visitors now that they must bring a helmet from tech gear and put it on at least just before the shaft edge. Witness (not first time) to a stone projectile falling deep into snow at shaft edge.
Due to early date no lily-of-the-valleys or nice slippers along path, snow in gully starts just below shaft.
This year I planned to extend the tour a bit and admit I struggled to reach goal. 30m above shaft real winter adventure starts, path hides under steep snowfield, partly frozen, sunny side very slushy. Overcame rock barrier straight over waterfall, saw marks only on descent. Ladder fully under snow, so had snack at lowest dry ridge point (ca 2030m) Hudi prask - Mrzla gora.
Disappointed again by careless hikers, new logbook in new box completely soaked. When will we get rid of mountaineering scum who can't close bivouac doors and box lids mrk pogled

...and 700m of nice white road to the barrier.

Those two are also disappointed with the depth this year.

Mists are already approaching Ojstrica and Planjava.

Mrzla gora. The rock in front is the aforementioned peaklet.

On the descent the mists were already approaching.

Since the road has long no longer been maintained, unfortunately the little house with outdoor furniture is also decaying.

As the previous posters wrote, the pothole this year really looks more like a "washbasin" velik nasmeh

but it's still worth going to see it.

Access to the pothole is this year almost rocky to the top.

If it's an attraction, I don't know. But it's pretty deep and still expanding. I didn't measure it because I don't like doing it under the shower. velik nasmeh

Otherwise it's not good to linger there long, because after 8am it already rumbles from Hudih dan, Mrzla gora and Krnička gora.

After viewing the Pothole I traversed under Rdeči stolp towards Savinjek slope to not lose too much height. Reached the ridge at mark X. Then to the always interesting Savinjek and back along the ridge to the saddle below Veliki vrh and from there to the valley.
Weather was just perfect.

The poles are really tiny compared to it.

Nice view into the valley and towards Mrzla gora, Krnička gora and Matkova krnica.

Back along the ridge towards Veliki vrh (looking back).

As far as I know, the data on this link still holds. 23 meters should be the maximum measured depth:

Almost ideal conditions for today's Škaf visit. For viewing Dragotov's measured pothole depth I warmly recommend normal crampons, as every fall into the depth can be fatal here. Especially if taking selfies on the edge... zavijanje z očmi

Descent was express, snow almost to the valley. mežikanje

Place where the marked path comes from the right.

For a walk around the cirque, crampons are mandatory.

Deep in the snow lay the logbook box, which....

...so I picked it up, straightened it and reattached it to its place.

@turbo, my deepest measured depth of the shaft (from average height of upper edge) was 21. 5. 2006, namely 30.5m. +/- difference possible only half meter due to slope of gravelly bottom, which of course I didn't see.
@garmont, on pic 5 I feel bottom not broken through yet, looks too white. Thanks for putting the box in place.
One more tip. Besides crampons, helmet strongly recommended on perimeter walk. Occasional stone projectiles stick deep in snow.

Of course the bottom is visible. For now there are two dry holes at the bottom, one bigger and one smaller, which will soon merge.
Tone, are you sure it was 30m deep?

Sure, Drago. When measuring I tie a trekking pole to the rope (no stone at hand) and lower it to the bottom by feel. I repeat at least at two different spots, [make a] knot above. Out of impatience I usually measure the rope on site.
I've several times thought to mark the edge height on the wall, but too much j... vaservaga and the real deviation could be too big.

To not miss out too much, I also went today. At half nine I was in Matkov valley, just right time, no more need heavy boots with crampons due to softened snow. But rope replaced the weight, main thing of today's trip. Park at standard spot and go on path full of obstacles (snow avalanches, fallen trees), so on return stuck to debris as much as possible, good sliding. For depth measured with suitable stone tied on, luckily at hand. Depth from highest edge to bottom exactly 19m. By shaft edge config, average depth under 18m.
Note that due to negligence the box is damaged, nice thick new logbook dedicated to mountain lover already unusable and destroyed.
Such people better stay in valley.
