Hey @AI.. combination of both, so I had breakfasts and dinners with me and prepared them myself (hot meals with a stove), lunches and snacks/sweets I ate in huts along the way. I also had a water filter with me, so I didn't buy water anywhere, but refilled it along the path (tons of springs) or at huts.

Good luck and enjoy! nasmeh

I used a nice weather window and from Friday to Sunday hiked the High Carnic Trail to Plockenpass - in less than three days about 60km and 4000m elevation. It's a wonderful landscape and I definitely recommend it to all fans of longer trails. Big advantage: tons of lakes and water sources on trail where you could cool off despite high heat (practically every two hours or less, exception only section between Porzehutte and Hochweißsteinhaus)

Due to hut occupancy I had no choice but to bivouac on trail (set up at dusk, packed at 6am), which turned out to be a top decision. Since I usually finished the day an hour ahead of last hut I hiked alone almost all day, met people only at hut stops, and even there not many.. at least compared to TNP visit.

@Bernarda - huts really very full, but usually you can get some space without reservation, at least that was experience of some individuals I talked to on trail. Of course risk exists they are completely full and what they do then unfortunately I don't know.

Bravo, price difference compared to say Austria is 5€ per MWh - that means 0.005€ / kWh, if that SPOT price difference transfers to end consumers.

All above-mentioned countries have a significantly higher share of RES (wind, solar, hydro) or nuclear (France). I conclude you're a big supporter of RES + nuclear or at least I hope so, if you want cheaper electricity, which the prices from the mentioned graph prove.
Lunatixz15. 11. 2023 08:23:55
@milesdavis - please don't mislead people with a picture that's definitely an unrealistic depiction of the current situation in Europe and was intentionally taken on some day when the electricity price was so high for whatever reasons - most likely from 2022 (winter period, under the influence of the war in Ukraine etc).

On the website https://euenergy.live/?date=2023-11-14 you can check electricity prices by countries (also backwards) and you'll soon notice that ours in SLO are completely comparable to the European ones and far from the picture in the above post.

In the attachment I'm adding a picture for the electricity price today (15.11) and tomorrow (16.11) - prices are day-ahead, so for the next day.

Hi. I'm buying some gear and would be very grateful for approx 12 stamps - would anyone be so kind and share them?

Thanks and have a nice evening! nasmeh

Bravo, super ascent.

Otherwise it puzzles me a bit, because you wrote above 1700m concrete, but from pics (6, 8, 12, 16, ..) you see it's anything but that - I'd say on S parts it was quite wet/southern, in shaded parts above 2200-2300m unprocessed?
Lunatixz31. 08. 2022 13:04:57
I hope you realize that despite the low grade it's a serious alpinistic ascent and without the necessary knowledge from experience definitely don't tackle it.

I'm attaching a cutout/pics from Slovenske Stene (T. Mihelič), where all necessary data are.

Does anyone maybe know the conditions over Plemenice, probably still quite some snow under Triglav notch and passage without winter gear not possible?

Thanks for the answer. nasmeh

I see you deliberately omitted the key message of the reply to your first comment above - I suggest you both read it again, maybe you'll understand. On the other hand I get it, if someone doesn't want to understand, they won't.

And no, no one wants a piece of beach just for themselves, but that motorbikers and cyclists "ride" each on their own part, when next to the roadway (which tourers create with the track) there's also a bike lane available (of course under snow until someone tramples it).. if you like analogies so much. And yes, Portorož is an excellent example of how in an organized environment all "traffic participants" can enjoy mežikanje

I can give a good example that's quite indicative for all more crowded routes. With buddies at the beginning of December after one snowfall we were the first to pull the track to Viševnik and except for a few short sections it ran of course in the area of the summer trail except the top part where it zigzagged completely independently. But that "summer trail area" is continuously wider than 1.5m-2m, so a hiker could easily walk 30-40cm left or right.

What do you think happened? The next day we went back there and the track was completely postholed, even in the top part where it zigzagged on the slope.

No one expects hikers and skiers to share the track/gaz on those short sections where parallel track and path really aren't possible - but such sections are honestly extremely few. That in my view doesn't justify someone for completely selfish reasons (it's just a bit easier for him) postholing the entire track from the car to the top and thus taking away part of the pleasure from all other skiers, while increasing effort and slip risk.

Most sad is when because of holes we make a new/other parallel track, but sooner or later it's also postholed - probably intentionally, because otherwise I really see no reason. As I mentioned above, the world would be much better if hikers in such conditions used snowshoes - hikers themselves would profit most, because walking sinking to your ass is really tiring and far from enjoyment.

Swiss,

You could take a minute to actually look at the pictures. Both (as a good example to others) used snowshoes, which basically don't ruin a well-packed track - if everyone used them, the world would be much better.mežikanje

"Meanwhile, I'm sending a video of CNN's technical director caught admitting that they had to fudge the death numbers upward. Orders came from above".

I watched the whole video and the technical director didn't mention either of the above two claims anywhere in the clip. You've really just proven again that your English knowledge is at a desperately low level - the saddest thing is that you use English sources to "prove" your nonsense despite such poor knowledge. You're a classic example of the Dunning-Kruger effect (https://sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning-Krugerjev_u%C4%8Dinek - attaching the Slovenian Wikipedia instead, since I see you won't understand the English version). mežikanje

I can explain it to you - "Put them back up" refers to his superior's request to put the death count information back on the screen (over the right half of the page) - quite funny, because I can actually see how some layperson (I assume you don't even have elementary school English knowledge) could misinterpret it, just like you did. The main factor influencing higher viewership of a channel is fear, and with that number on the screen, their viewership actually increased. That's also why he sometimes wished the death count that day was higher - that would increase the fear factor and consequently their viewership. Just look at how his facial expression proves it (from 00:15 onward in the clip) - raised hands clenched into fists, which is a fairly universal body language for hoping/wishing for something/rooting for something.

The most ironic thing is that this guy is doing exactly what CNN does too - manipulation to increase clicks / views and consequently money or profit. If you haven't watched the documentary "The Social Dilemma" yet (of course don't forget subtitles) I sincerely recommend it. I'm sure you regularly use Facebook.. based on what I've read so far, probably as your main source of information.

"Lunatixz, I can't help if you can't calculate. In 1983 there were 10.662 deaths per thousand inhabitants. For 2020 calculate like this: 23891 / 2081000 * 1000 = 11.481. That's 7.7% difference. Now consider and judge how much the population has aged in 40 years. Age pyramids

Of course, the experts chose such a comparative period to get 18% increase in deaths."

Bravo Becar, so instead of admitting your mistake you start (to yourself) digging an even bigger hole and try the tactic of diverting attention and further distorting the truth - exactly what you accused the authorities and media of in your original message.

For comparison, instead of the average of the last 4-5 years (which is of course by far the most relevant for comparison), you chose 1983, which had by far the highest mortality in the last 70 years (10.662), just to disprove their statement and get to 7.7% excess mortality. Why didn't you choose 2006 (9.345) instead, based on which we would conclude that mortality in 2020 increased by as much as 23%!! But no, that would be distorting the truth then, right? velik nasmeh

I took another 5 minutes to unequivocally show who is really the one distorting the truth in this debate (so authorities/media or you). For the base I took the period of the last 37 years, i.e. the average from 1983 (including your year) to 2019, and got average mortality 9.685 / 100,000 inhabitants. If we compare that to 2020 we get (11.481 / 9.685) excess mortality 18.54%, which is even higher than what was presented in our media (there they stated 17.3%, because they took only 5-year average).

MORE DIFFERENT COMPARISONS:
30-year average - 18.54%
"Slovenian media and authorities" - 17.3%
Becar - 7.7%

This year I've dealt with quite a few individuals like you, and honestly, a deeper debate is really a big waste of time because of constant diversion/distorting the truth. Accordingly, I (mainly for myself) ended the conversation with you, but still hope you'll start solving your dissatisfaction (with job, family, wife, government or whatever) in some other way, and not the way you've shown in the debate so far.

In any case, I wish you many more relaxing hikes in our extremely beautiful hills. nasmeh

You obviously should go back to elementary school.

Please open your link and read the sentence that is deliberately marked with a red frame. Obviously people like you aren't stopped by that from spreading lies and desperately looking for ways to confirm your (unfounded of course) beliefs - in plain terms, that's called delusions.

Congratulations, bravo! How about the road passability to Dom pod Storžičem.. probably not yet? nasmeh
