Schaftspitze - Monte delle Pecore is 2729 meter high peak and is part of the National Park Stelvio. The peak is located 4 km south-southeast from the center of Tschengls - Cengles and 5 km west-southwest from the center of Tarnell - Tarnello. The nearest mountain hut is Düsseldorfer Hütte (Zaytalhütte) - Rifugio Serristori, located 5km southwest. A little further is Gampenalm - Malga Gampen. 3 km south from the summit there is glacier Ofenwandferner/Vedretta del Forno, 6 km south from the summit there is also glacier Rosimferner - Vedretta di Rosim. Southeast of the summit is the valley Laaser Tal - Valle di Laasa.
