Kortscher Schafkopf is 3111 meter high peak and is part of the Ötztal Alps. The peak is located 1.3 km southeast of peak Innerer Saldurspitz - Punta Saldura di Dentro. The nearest mountain hut is Oberetteshütte - Rifugio Oberettes, located 6km north-northwest. A little further is bivouac Schäferhütte. 2 km northwest from the summit there is glacier Ramudelferner - Vedretta di Ramudla, 2 km northwest from the summit there is also glacier Lagaunferner - Vedretta di Lagaun. The peak is located in the valley Vinschgau - Val Venosta.
