Podsreda - Stara sveta gora (by Stations of the Cross)

Access to the starting point:
a) Drive to Šentjur (to get here from Celje, the Štajerska motorway exit Dramlja or Šmarij pri Jelšah), then follow the signs for Kozje and Mountain pasture near Sevnica. At the end of Šentjur, continue straight on towards Kozje (Planina pri Sevnici on the right), then drive through Lesično, Kozje to Podsreda, where you park in the parking lot next to the fire station building and the residents' home.
b) Drive to Brestanica (to get here from Sevnica or Krško), then follow the signs for Senovo and then Podsreda. In Podsreda go left towards Kozje (right Bistrica ob Sotli), and when you get to the building of the firemen's home and the home of the local residents, park in the parking lot next to the building.

Path description:
From the parking lot, walk to the south side of the building, and after it, turn left along the narrow asphalt road, which begins to climb. The path initially leads past the Chapel of St Florian, but forks after the next chapel.
Continue left on the path, which continues alongside the Stations of the Cross (straight ahead on the road). Then climb up the serpentines, where at each serpentine there is a chapel with a Stations of the Cross station, and we have beautiful views of Podsreda, and the surrounding hills. As the path and the slope lay down, a slightly longer path along the road joins us from the right, and we walk to the nearby Church of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows, and a little further on is the Chapel of St Anne.
